Clone and Upgrade a HDD? - oriongb - 2013-01-21 This is gonna be hard to describe so in advance, i'm sorry for any headaches caused. My HTPC has a 500GB hdd split into 2 partitions, right? I would like to replace it with a 1TB drive. Can I put both drives into my computer and then clone the 500gb one onto the 1tb one and it still have both partitons? Many thanks! *HTPC runs XBMCLive, PC is windows. RE: Clone and Upgrade a HDD? - thethirdnut - 2013-01-21 You could use something like 'dd' in your Linux PC to do this. Just don't mixup source, destination and you should be able to clone whole drive. http://serverfault.com/questions/4906/using-dd-for-disk-cloning RE: Clone and Upgrade a HDD? - FishOil - 2013-01-21 Clonezilla You can go from smaller to bigger drive. Full disk clone. Its EXACTLY its purpose. Oh........and its free. RE: Clone and Upgrade a HDD? - oriongb - 2013-01-21 (2013-01-21, 08:56)FishOil Wrote: Clonezilla Cheers man |
