help find good box - jonatan - 2013-01-23

Hi to all noob here i love xbmc been running it on pc currently im using and pivos aios and i dont like it so i want to set my living room up with xbmc via openelec so iv been searching for a good device been looking at pivos xios, dvd Fab new set top box aka vidon.me and the zbox ad10,ad11,ad12,andid80 so what would you guys think would be the best for 1080 mkv rips never over 3gb

This is a good OpenELEC nettop. You can learn more about it in the Celeron 847 mini-ITX thread. AMD E-350 also works nicely for OpenELEC.

The rpi seems waty to laggy and for that Android box im wanting to run openelec so that wouldn't work so im thinking my options are zbox id41,id80,ad10,ad11,or ad12 openelec forum their pointing me to id models

I would recommend looking into a Raspberry PI.

Thanks ok i was thinking i got some parts laying around was wondering if this would be better than the id40
Intel g530
Biostar th67+
400w psu
Gts 250 no hdmi
2x4 gigs of 1600 mhz patriot ram one stick bad so 4 gigs
16 gb usb 3.0 flash drive
And i would Buy a nice htpc case
Would would this work

It would definitely work with OpenELEC. I would try it without the GTS250. Intel is well supported with OpenELEC.
