Webserver Stopped when user log off - SchattenMann - 2013-01-30

Greetings,

Since i've update to 12 i've noticed every time a user log off the webserver also stops making impossible to control XBMC with a iOS/Android App.

My logg:

There is no error so it seems this is the expected behavior but if so, how can one log off and select another profile using a iOS/Android remote App?

Thanks

I'm sorry, didn't meant to disrespect. I was just trying to save some time to however read this by hiding the boot log part

here is a full debug log, from booting to log off, with only SMB username and password replaced

thank you in advanced

XBMC User logged (xbmc is killed) off webserver naturally stops since its part or XBMC. That is 100% natural.

When you created your other profile(s) and you were prompted to "Start with fresh settings or copy from default", which did you select? If you started with fresh settings, then none of the network settings or authentication information were copied over to your new profile(s), thus your remote control app cannot access your webserver once you switch over to the profile. You need to go into each of these profiles and manually enter the same information you have in your master profile's Services page (webserver, remote control, etc.).

I am unclear whether this thread is about logging off a profile user or a system user.

I'm thinking logging off XBMC profile, but the OP has answers for both scenarios now. Wink

that completely makes sense...why didn't i think that myself? duh!

i will try it ASAP.

Thank you very much artrafael

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - SchattenMann - 2013-02-01

weird, i've just deleted the "other profile" and created a new one, this time copying the settings from the default one but i still have the same behavior...

as soon as i get to the "choose profile" window, webserve is stopped...

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - SchattenMann - 2013-02-01

ok i copy all settings from my Master Profile to a test profile, therefor making sure all settings are filled, and i can confirm that during the "Profile Selection Window" the webserver is stopped making impossible to use the API
Once one of the profiles is selected - with a keyboard for example - webserver gets up again making API work

ofc i might be doing something wrong but i don't think this is related to the profile configuration...i mean this happens during the "Select Profile" window so none of the profile settings are active during that specific moment...

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - artrafael - 2013-02-02

Hmm, I'm not seeing that problem using the official XBMC remote for Android (v1.0.9, Rev 1009) running on a Nexus 7 and controlling a Frodo system. I can use the remote control function and navigate to and open the XBMC shutdown menu, select log-off, switch to another profile, and continue navigating with the remote under the new profile. I was able to go from Master to another profile and vice versa without interruptions in the remote's functionality.

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - SchattenMann - 2013-02-02

I was able to do it with xbmc v11 but as soon as v12 was installed it stop working. Sad

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - artrafael - 2013-02-02

Hmm... did you upgrade to the Frodo (v12) compatible version of the remote app?

RE: Webserver Stopped when user log off - SchattenMann - 2013-02-02

Ok now you got me...no idea what you are talking about Sad

I performed a fresh install with XBMCBuntu RC3 and later updated with apt-get
