Hi,
I'm experiencing this problem. Network services don't work unless I turn off firewall. I do have exception added under firewall. Xbmcremote app for iphone even finds computer but will not connect unless I turn off firewall. Similar thing occurs for youtube to xbmc chrome add on.
Everything worked perfectly before I upgraded to latest xbmc software.
I'm running XBMC on windows 7 (which is connected to router wirelessly.).

I am new to this and using windows 8 new laptop (that I cannot get used to)! Nothing works since a firewall message came up. I don't know where to find the firewall! Please help!

Wish I knew. I haven't used windows 8. Safest thing will be to completely uninstall (revo uninstaller) and reinstall xbmc.
