xbmcubuntu on my pc - silvers46 - 2013-07-04

my current windows os just crashed so now i need to restart from scratch. i was thinking about using xbmcubuntu. all i need is the ability to use xbmc which is a given and setup plex media server so i can stream my videos while im away. also i would like for the toslink (optical) audio to work aswell. is this possible ill list my pc setup below.

amd x2 4400e (has sse3)
gigabyte ma78gm-us2h (ati 4200hd) i will be using integrated card
8gb 800mhz ddr2 ram
80gb ide hdd

Looks very ample for xbmc. Ati doesn't have the best support in Linux, but it should be OK - throw a current low end nvidia card in there and you'll have a very capable htpc.
