My dev machine loads latest fine, so it was released... But for the life of me I can't get it to load on my HTPC!

Before I rip my htpc apart, Im wondering if this is a global problem....

The new PTVL doesn't work properly for me either. I done a force reset, it loads then stops building when it gets to channel 6. I left it for hours but still the same. Tried deleting the cache folder and force resetting again but it still gets stuck. I did also notice that it builds a lot slower and the EPG crashes easily. I can give a log if needed.

**Edit*

I deleted the cache folder and done a force reset again. This time it got stuck on the 4th channel. Tried using the EPG and it lagged severely. I tried to exit PTVL and it finally crashed.
Heres the LOG

Yep, can confirm there are problems with 0.4.2. I usually always can get my PTVL to load. But I notice things are either slow or is not working at all. Did channel reset and all that jazz and rescanned channels this morning and went to work. Just came home to a blank screen 10 hours later. Checked task manager and XBMC still working. So, it is forever slow or just not doing anything. Guess no PTVL for the moment.

As for slow refresh, dynamic artwork extends to some plugins and all livetv... so parsing can be longer, but the cache will speed up channel loads next time you run...

Also performance in general will get faster the longer you go without a force channel reset... which clears the cache.

Hey, I switched over to this last week from pseudotv and love it. I updated to 0.4.2 or whatever today and then I get Error Script Failed. I can look for a log in a bit if you need it.

Using Gotham there are some movie channels that don't continue to play, they always start at the beginning when I switch to them. So even if I go back 5 minutes later it starts at the beginning. Just reporting some issues in case no one else did.

cheers

mrpcpro

I had that problem as well, but I tracked it down to movies that had local subtitle tracks in the folder. Once I removed them, normal seek/resume playback worked. I haven't tried putting them back recently though, or moving them to another sub folder..

Does anybody have a solution for this issue that doesn't involve getting rid of all my subtitle files? I've tried moving them to sub-folders in each movie's individual folder, which didn't fix it, and then moving every .srt file to a single subtitles folder, which also didn't make a difference. I actually thought it had fixed it at first, because the first time I loaded PTVL up after that move, it started on a film that was halfway through, but then I changed to a different channel, enabled subtitles and went back to the previous channel to find that movie starting over again.

And a somewhat-related second question - is there a way of tweaking the ratio of tv shows to movies on mixed channels? I only just switched from the original PTV when I upgraded to Gotham, and it seems like my Animation channel has a lot more movies in the schedule than I'd like, especially when most of them keep starting from the beginning when I browse through to that channel.

I've been trying to figure out why this happens, It happens to me randomly... I'm usually to lazy to keep track of wither it's the same movie each time or what format the movie is in...
If you can build a list and let me know if the problem is with one type of forma. This would help me narrow down the issue.

thanks

Was there ever any progress on this? Installed today and everything seems to be working but all videos start at their beginning. I tried the subtitle folder fix mentioned in previous posts, but didn't work for me. Every time I change to another show, it starts it over from the start.
Just seeing if anything ever came of it. Thanks.

::Update::

On the hunt for this mystery bug, for the life of me I can't figure out why it loads fine on my Dev machine, and won't even start on my HTPC...

The upside, I may have stumbled onto the bug that was causing shows not the seek properly.
