First of all, this was incredibly painless. I was worried I'd lose everything, but I just copied the settings2 file to my desktop, installed the dev zip, and copied my settings2 back over and all my channels were there, but now they actually loaded!

great start.

Only issues I've had is USTVNow shows up as "listing unavailable" for all the epg, but the channels all work so that's good. first time I've tried it so I'm not sure if that's a problem on ustvnow or ptvl. Other issue is that the epg is very slow. Again, these are first impressions so it's tough to say if it's truly a problem or if it's early stutters from first couple runs. As I said though, the channel listing is very slow. Bringing up the guide is about the same time as stable, but pressing up/down or page up/page down is very slow, and requests stack so if I press up, think it didn't get it and press up again, it'll go up twice..eventually. This is on a windows pc, pretty powerful gaming machine I use as a htpc.

just wanted to give some feedback since you've been asking for feedback on the dev branch to update stable for a few days and I'd been sitting on the sidelines. Thanks so much for such a fantastic plugin. it's terrific

Let the cache build up.. EPG gets faster. For ustvnow did u enable xmltv service?

after some more testing, everything seems to be running perfectly now. xmltv service was enabled, but maybe didn't run the first time when I noticed it? Now that I've been in and out of xbmc and re-started ptvl a few times the epg is back up to the speed I remember and ustvnow stations are pulling in the correct info. And for what it's worth, ustvnow is also synced correctly with epg timing. I'm on eastern time.

Cool... Glad everything is working.

Technically not a video plugin. Under addons, go to "enabled addons" and then "PVR Clients" and it's listed there. So it is a PVR client still, but doesn't require the traditional TV backend.

How is it redundant? Makes sense to be able to access Live TV channels in PTVL, no? You already support that function thru the "Find PVR backend" option anyway, right? And you support USTVNOW in PTVL also.

Its redundant because you can already configure PTVL to run IPTV links...

Didn't u configure IPTV? IPTV doesn't provide content like ustvnow. Its two different things.

Im scared of making a fool of myself, but how do you parse out an m3u playlist into their relevant channels? I ctrl+f'd "m3u" and couldn't find anything...

IPTV Channels Listing: [redacted]
IPTV EPG: [redacted]

Didn't realize they were an issue. My apologies.

Still leaves the question on how to parse out an m3u playlist and its xmltv list.

currently there isn't a converter... so there is no way except to manually do it.

Wondering if you can point me in the right direction on a bug I'm trying to fix. I've autotuned USTVNOW channels and the wrong channel id is being stuffed into settings2.xml for a few of the channels. The "wrong" id is a valid id for another channel and this particular id is assigned to multiple channels which makes the program lineup in the EPG appear to the be same for all of these channels.
I manually updated my settings2.xml with the correct IDs from ustvnow.xml thinking this would solve the issue, but as soon as I rebuilt the guide to correct the bad EPG, something overwrote my manual changes in settings2.xml and reverted the IDs back to the wrong one for the affected channels.
So, "I11207102.labs.zap2it.com" is the ID in question, that is assigned to only one channel in my ustvnow.xml file (USA network), but that ID is being assigned to multiple channels in settings2.xml. Make sense? Anyone else seeing this issue? Running latest stable release on Amazon FireTV and OSX. Seeing this on both platforms.

EDIT: I cleared cache, and manually deleted the cache folder in the addon_data folder but no luck. Lots of XBMC restarts in between as well.

switch to development branch under "misc" settings

Also before we look into the xmltv being the problem. Have you tried force resetting the channel. This should put everything back in sync. If not its the xmltv time... Easy fix.

Done a force channel reset and still no change. Decided to delete my xmltv file and re-run WebGrab+ with nothing changed in the files, and now the guide tihnks it's Monday morning. Now, again, I just loaded the same .xml file into TV Guide and it loads correctly. For the life of me I can't figure this out.

EDIT: As I said before I'm using UTC.

2ND EDIT: Thinking on it, it's the same config that I sent you for WG+ the other day, Luna.

3RD EDIT: On further investigating I noticed that when I bring the info up on a channel that is playing, it shows the info for the correct show that is on at the time. However, the EPG remains to be out (now, somehow, I'm three hours behind the real EPG. It's like it's randomly choosing how off it wants to be).

I appreciate your support:

You sent the donation tuesday, please wait till monday... I'm only one guy! doing A LOT on his off time Smile

No worries: I just didn't hear anything from you and you don't know how hard it is to wait for extra goodies especially a whole week .

I have enabled debugging in my settings but cant find the log file. I fear that my pstv is messed up somehow. Cause It refuses to add ustv-now even though it worked fine earlier. Where would the log file be located?

Only thing that works for me is a few addons, youtube, rss and local files. I would love to get the Playon integration. Does it work at this point? I can see in my channel configuration that Netflix gets generated but dosnt show up in the epg
, Also Super Fav works but kinda buggy I'm sure u are aware.?

keep up the good work
What approach is best to get a fresh install of pstv ?

@LuNaTiX

Is it possible and not to much work to bring back the "color_chanbug" option in settings.xml ?
It worked fine in 0.4.8a

Thanks in advance Smile

PlayOn works great along with super fav.

It's picking up the shows in order, and randomizing the episodes (added a Force Random rule), so since the Simpsons is the first show in the family genre, it's adding all of the Simpsons episodes before it'll add any of the other shows. My question... any way to not only randomize the episodes, but also randomize the shows so that I don't end up with all of the simpsons episodes on back to back to back to back ... Smile. My current channel config is:

<setting id="Channel_66_type" value="15" />
<setting id="Channel_66_time" value="436" />
<setting id="Channel_66_1" value="" />
<setting id="Channel_66_2" value="" />

I can only wonder why you went from a post and reply at the hub to here!

Perhaps a setting of "find the first X results" followed by "randomize X shows within those results". But that may be hard for Luna to implement, and would make parsing take much longer. But if possible, I echo this request!
