RE: Advise on budget HTPC build. - Dougie Fresh - 2013-09-05 Short answer: yes. Long answer: there are dozens of threads in this forum about using Celeron mobile motherboard/PCs with XBMC. Search Celeron in the forum search. RE: Advise on budget HTPC build. - Copyright - 2013-09-06 I keep reading it both ways so it was nice to get the short answer from you. Thank you! RE: Advise on budget HTPC build. - cwide - 2013-09-06 Here is my suggestion. How about: http://www.amazon.com/ECS-Elitegroup-Motherboard-Motherboards-H61H2-I3/dp/B0091158A6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1378427784&sr=8-5&keywords=ecs+1155 and http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Celeron-2-60GHz-Processor-BX80637G1610/dp/B00B4BJYVU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378427814&sr=8-1&keywords=celeron+g1610 Only $3 more than your combo and much more powerful. Will make a much better experience in Windows. RE: Advise on budget HTPC build. - Copyright - 2013-09-06 (2013-09-06, 02:37)cwide Wrote: Here is my suggestion. I am afraid you are wrong on being 3$ more.. you did not include the 50$ case to put this in.. so $53 more is not within the budget.. Thank you though! Use the same case you have already linked. Understand? Sorry, I read that quick when I was cooking lol.. The setup was already ordered earlier today. RE: Advise on budget HTPC build. - Copyright - 2013-09-06 Found a better board for 5$ more than your board.. so basically 8$ more for a better setup.. I will see if we can cancel our order. The Asrock board is getting better reviews and has a PCI-E slot as well. Advise on budget HTPC build. - ladude626 - 2013-09-06 I'm not sure about this case but don't forget you might need a low profile cooler the celeron to fit into the case. Usually cost $30 for a low profile cooler. |
