RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Jan0sh - 2014-04-02 Just a quicky, is the e350 amd apu capable of doing hevc and if so what requirements must be met to get it working on current xbmc nightly? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - wsnipex - 2014-04-02 SD resolution might work, but I doubt it has enough oomph for 720p or higher. Nothing else is needed but a version from my fernetMenta-master ppa RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-04-02 (2014-04-02, 12:39)tomtomme Wrote: stil these xbmc crashes at the end of an rtmp stream You miss the relevant patch in your mesa installation. Did you pick it? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - arkim - 2014-04-02 With the version of openelec nightly build, my amd e-350 fusion read all videos like a charm even mkv big 1080p ... at 23,98p (2014-04-02, 12:39)tomtomme Wrote: stil these xbmc crashes at the end of an rtmp stream I'm surprise because all is fine for me with mesa patch (2014-04-02, 12:59)Jan0sh Wrote: Just a quicky, is the e350 amd apu capable of doing hevc and if so what requirements must be met to get it working on current xbmc nightly? Mine read all videos even big bitrate mkv 1080p with the openelec nightly build (mesa patch) RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-04-02 @arkim: Yes - I know. Thank ckoenig and unichrome1980 who has kept up that topic and discussed it with the amd devs on a technical level. We hope it will get even better as unichrome1980 is not yet fully happy - could be optimized further. Sad thing: Ubuntu's 3.13 kernel won't be enough to use that. 3.14 also won't have it. Let's hope for 3.15 - so that it can be installed easily via ubuntu mainline. If there are issues with drm drivers for you, then bugs.freedesktop.org is the place to go (as mentioned multiple times now). I know where to go, i just don't know what this bug might be related to... there is no "drm drivers" section when i'm going to pick a section -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi is it mesa, dri, ... thanks in advance. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-04-02 mesa is userspace, dri ist kernel space. Just compare with the other two bugs, that I have linked in this thread. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Ectholian - 2014-04-03 Yesterday I was taking some preparations to switch to the Gotham release. Currently I am running Frodo, the xvba version. I skipped the installation of the mesa stuff and only upgraded my kernel to 3.13; but that broke my fgrlx Am I right that when I perform the upgrade, I need to install the mesa drivers and uninstall the fgrlx drivers? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - wsnipex - 2014-04-03 yes RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Ectholian - 2014-04-03 Also, I'm using the AMD E-350 CPU... do I really need to install OpenELEC to be able to play without the stop-bug? Or is it sufficient to install the 3.14 kernel. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-04-03 The stop bug is mesa related - just use what this howto suggests based on 13.10 and wsnipex mesa ppa. There is no fix for 14.04 (xbmcbuntu, mesa 10.1) packaged out there, cause we hope that Ubuntu will include it automatically - as it is already done in upstream. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Ectholian - 2014-04-03 Great, thanks for the quick replies! RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Claudio.Sjo - 2014-04-03 Testing with kernel 3.14 So far, so good. |
