Sure, its the same like with an SSD.

Just start the create_installstick.exe in the tar archive to make a live USB, same as with 3.2.3.

Copy the content from the target folder from the tar archive to the Update folder on your openelec, same update procedure as always.

And to go back to frodo its the same as well.

One more thing:

If you are using TVheadend for live TV, after updating to gotham go to the TV settings and click the 2 options to rebuild the TV channel/recording and program guide (EPG) database.

(you won't lose anything by doing this, it will just reload the data from the tvheadend server to repopulate the xbmc database.)

Yay, it works Big Grin, looking pretty good right now, thanks alot and how the hell can i reputate ?!

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - Crssi - 2013-11-18

Thanx guy for Gotham and live stick.

Tried on Gotham OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-devel-20131109194305-r16358.

Broadcast: Full
VAAPI: Disable
Brightness: 58
Contrast: 58

and you will get closest approximation to desired color range
Obviously (because of full broadcast) some minor details are lost in black (maybe even white), but just to get an idea how it should be with broadcast limited 16:235

I believe the same can also be tested on OE 3.2.3

p.s.: dont believe that on xtreamerpro i can make a screenshot, to show you difference Sad

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - gamble - 2013-11-18

One more question, under Gotham XBMC does not update my recently added movies list on the main screen and tablet,
i do have them in my Movie folder but not under recently added..

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - arokh - 2013-11-18

Since Frodo XBMC uses the date when the videos were released, not the date you added them to your library. To change it back make an advancedsettings.xml:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<advancedsettings>
  <videolibrary>
    <dateadded>0</dateadded>
  </videolibrary>
</advancedsettings>

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - gamble - 2013-11-18

But i am on Gotham Alpha now...?

But i already tried that, doesn't work for me :/

edit.

Ok, i just ripped another BR of mine and it show up just fine, really seems that XBMC just cares about when the File was made not when it was added to the Library ,
the last 4 Movies i added came from my back up HDD (From Before Nas-Times) and didn't show up.
Anyway, the advanced setting.xml doesn't help..but no big Problem now i know that everything works as opposed Smile

thx anyway !

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - arokh - 2013-11-18

Ah yeah sorry, it's the modification time indeed, just update the filestamp before adding it Smile

I have a weird issue, after playing a DTS-HD MA or TrueHD movie with passthrough, my AVR stops understanding the audio codec on any movie until after a reboot. Playing only DTS/AC3 files does not cause this issue. Some times it takes a couple of tries before it happens, but certainly my passthrough ability disappears. This never happened with the Ivy Bridge NUC. Admittedly I'm using some bleeding edge software, but downgrading my kernel to 3.12 and XBMC to 12.2 does not remedy the issue.

Maybe it's because I'm using a mini display to hdmi adapter? If I turn the NUC completely off, I do not get a picture until X starts either, even with all my equipment on. I do have the display port set to primary in the BIOS.

EDIT: Just noticed that if I try to change preferred display order in the BIOS it crashes.. Anyone else running the latest BIOS having these issues?

So.. are you all still parked on OE with overkill blacks? Am I the only windows traitor?

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - gamble - 2013-11-19

Nightly Build with füll RGB and vaapi disabled Works mostly Fine, only Hi-Res. Audio DTS-HD like the Avengers make problems.....i get 100%load on One Core while the Others float at ~10% and some stuttering....Hope Hardware acceleration gets working otherwise i should have hone with i5 als planend b4 :p

I have no Problem with passthru, tested 50 Movies now with different mastering and Audio worked everytime.

I think better multithreading should be coming soon, probably before va-api gets fixed. If I'm reading the commits right, it should already be in the OE nightlies - the recent ones that are giving only black screen Shocked

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - gamble - 2013-11-19

I'll let u do the testing with nightlies, just tell me when its time to update again Big Grin

Edit. After changing the timestamp on my files and reloading them. to my Nas i still can Not See them at the Recently Added..Wtf...
