Do you have:
Code:
no_hdmi_resample=1
hdmi_stream_channels=1
in config.txt? They are required for passthrough from Pi audio sink.

Did something change? Build from 0118 worked fine...? New default player?

They are required for Pi audio sink (used by paplayer and dvdplayer).
They are not required for omxplayer.

I too was experiencing passthrough static issues on all Milhouse builds after #0118. Thanks to popcornmix's suggestion in post #2463, setting the "Number of channels" to 2.0 and adding the following to config.txt has solved this issue.
Code:
no_hdmi_resample=1
hdmi_stream_channels=1

Weird, I haven't actively changed default player. Thanks!

I will try that, thanks! Smile

I am pretty sure that some functions (PVR, for instance) are defaulting to DVDplayer in these recent Milhouse/Newclock3 builds, even if you don't change the default player in advancedsettings. See this post for further detail: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1608116#pid1608116

If there is a way to determine which player is actually in use during playback (top just indicates xbmc.bin) I'll try it later. I note that, unlike other places, where the contextual menu has a "play using…." option that identifies the default player and allows you to choose a different player, there is not such option when playing back recordings from the (myth) PVR addon.

Yes, that's how it is now. It's what I'm working on...

OpenELEC (Milhouse) Version: devel-20140123112050-r17126-gceb58b6

Added the lines in config.txt
Code:
no_hdmi_resample=1
hdmi_stream_channels=1
Setup channel : 2.0
Did not find passthrough Huh

Multichannel files have very low level and only stereo

Did I miss something?

I'm not sure how it got fixed exactly, you might need to a clean out of your /storage folders and start with a fresh configuration and then make an autostart.sh file in /storage/.config that looks like this:-

Yes, it works, thank you.

But now with the latest build, i have strange sound at some movies and some movies are playing right sound but no picture.

Should passthrough be enabled on the xbmc or is the just having the above code in the config.txt enough?

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - xbs08 - 2014-01-24

Is DVDPlayer the default is these new builds?

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Milhouse - 2014-01-24

No. See note #2 here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1605602#pid1605602

Maybe I should include that as boiler plate for future releases.

Weird, I had to add those lines to config.txt or passthrough would only play static with the latest releases, 0118 was fine without it... I have no advancedsettings.xml

With those lines in config.txt it's all good though... Smile

Playback with DVDplayer as the default caused slow downs for me.Instead of going back to MilhouseVH's January 18th build, i edited my advancedsettings xml file to make omxplayer the default again. Now playback is back to normal. Also i noticed that now playing is gone from the context menu even after you queue an item. Is there another way to change repeat and shuffle settings?
