Set it as windows media center

I have already created "Media Center PC" device. Manufacturer "Microsoft" Model Huh?

Not sure where to go next to map the keys and get it to work. Have looked at the following link:

What do you mean? All the buttons in the key map from choosing windows media center are ready. You put them where you want them on your remote.

Not difficult!

This is probably a stupid question, but if I run OpenELEC or XBMCBuntu on one of these, can I use a USB DVD for playing DVDs?

Another stupid question: can I remove the miniPCI wifi and install a mSATA SSD in its place?

DVD -yes of course you can.

Not sure on the other question.

You can't put in a mSATA in an miniPCIe Slot, you can only use miniPCIe 2 SATA Adapters like http://www.ebay.de/itm/271543377975
But i am not sure if that works 100% and you can boot from them in every configuration.

What type of Adapter do you exactly have?

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Bay Trail 2013 edition - DN2820FYKH) - GomezAddams - 2014-08-18

Hmmm, interesting. All of the other NUCs I've checked the specs on seem to support mSATA in their full sized miniPCI slots. However, since the 2820 comes with a wifi module in the full sized slot, they don't mention any specs of the slot.

I'd really rather use mSATA if I can (I don't need wireless) since it is faster and cheaper than regular SATA 2.5" drives.

Why are mSATA faster and where are they cheaper?

They're definitely not cheaper...

That may be cheap but it's also smaller capacity than any normal SSD... Id think a 16GB 2.5' SSD would be similar/cheaper price than that mSata. It also says it's out of stock anyway
