HI I was reading this pull request;

about directly accessing epg and recording windows JSON.
Is this now available in the helix alphas?
If so, how is it implemented? >>> GUIActivate window?

I have no clue about PVR because I don't have a PVR setup but did you check the list of available windows through JSONRPC.Introspect?
