Play of HEVC video - jpsdr - 2014-11-05
I've yesterday played for the first time an HEVC video. It was an mkv 2h long movie in 1080p of around 7Gb, with audio flac 5.1, with 12 chapters.
The file played properly while you let it play. Pause/resume (and stop) worked, but that's all.
+30s froze the play, next chapter also froze the play. Only play was frozen, not XBMC, because "stop" was still working.
Just curious if anyone has allready tried to play an HEVC file, and what his feedback would be ?
(Note : HEVC = H265).

Are resolutions other than 1080P supported for HEVC playback? I have encoded 1080P tests that play back smooth as silk with Kodi, but a 720X392 encode only plays back the audio in Kodi. VLC plays the video and audio fine. I, too, will post a Debug log, if necessary.
****RESOLVED**** The issue was with the encoded file. Subsequent test files have all worked fine. HEVC support is much appreciated.

I've played, asked +30s, and stop, because vidéo "froze".
After, ive tried several times "next chapter", but looping on 1rst chapter.
