Pivos XIOS DS black screen playing a movie on Kodi - Ryne - 2014-12-27
hi there, I have a Pivos Xios DS Android, was running fine on Frodo and Gotham but yesterday update to Kodi and everything looks fine but when I'm trying to watch a movie or whatever episode just listen de movie but i can't see nothing, just a black screen.

I have the same issue. It's driving me crazy. I have uninstalled and re installed 3 times with all the add ons. Is there something that we are missing ? Helix states it will work with android 4.0.4

Same here: I can here audio, but I get a black screen when playing video with Kodi 14.0 on my Pivos Xios DS (Android 4.0.4).
Video re-appeared after changing the video acceleration settings: either by selecting "software acceleration" or de-selecting "amcodec" acceleration (Settings > Video > Acceleration, in Expert settings mode). However, now the audio was not properly synced to the video anymore. I've tried several Audio/Video sync options (audio/video clock), but no success.
Same as Ryne, I have no troubles with Frodo or Gotham. Does anybody have a proper fix?

Same issue..
Kind of a fix:
If you disable hardware acceleration amcoded, and enable the other two it will work...
but it get's slow and slugish.. so anyone else got a better solution?

I also have the same problem....
To fix the video I must disable "allow harder acceleration (amcodec). It will work with the other two options but it's slow. The same result if I choose software acceleration.
All was great till today update. Any solution for this since ,several people are having the same problem?
Is it a problem with the xios ds? If the earlier version work nice and great shouldn't expect the same (or better) result with kodi?
Two more questions:
Is there any guide to downgrade from koi? (where can I find the latest gotham version?)
What is the best hardware for Kodi?
