kodi crash - janumix - 2015-01-02

Hi

There are number of crashes of KODI during just channel switching.
I can't find any reason for this in crashlog

Any help ?

BR
Janusz

Are you able to reproduce this reliably? I've seen this same type of crash before but haven't managed to nail it down.

RE: kodi crash - janumix - 2015-01-02

Yes, I've got another crashlog (I'll post it later). Usualy it happens quickly jumping from one channel to another. After abt. 20 switches kodi crash.

Could you try 6091 (PR)?

RE: kodi crash - janumix - 2015-01-02

means to compile this ?
or just next nightly would be enough ?

RE: kodi crash - negge - 2015-01-03

For now you'll have to compile it.

RE: kodi crash - sparklyballs - 2015-01-04

i have a crashlog for kodi final 14.0 crashing almost consistently after 5-10 minutes of watching tv from tvheadend backend.

RE: kodi crash - negge - 2015-01-04

@sparklyballs you have to install gdb, otherwise the log won't contain the necessary information. Edit: and you don't have debugging enabled.

gdb ? is that a linux program or something within kodi ?

RE: kodi crash - negge - 2015-01-04

The former. sudo apt-get install gdb, then try to reproduce the crash.

ran autoremove after apt-get install gdb

as per

Code:
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libcaca0 libsdl1.2debian libva-glx1
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libc6-dbg libpython3.4
Suggested packages:
  gdb-doc gdbserver
Recommended packages:
  libc-dbg
The following NEW packages will be installed
  gdb libc6-dbg libpython3.4

and wow, channel changes just got a whole lot quicker.

not crashed as yet...

spoke too soon

Too bad it doesn't contain the stack trace. I don't know why it keeps disappearing for some, it happens to me too.
