Sure, post #1 and chart updated.

If we are going to include UHD TVs, then the list certainly will get bigger.

Now that we have 3D MVC support for Windows, is it the "holy grail" of Kodi players? It seems to support HD audio plus 3D playback and everything is native to Kodi (i.e. no external media players like some Android devices).

at this point it meets the requirements, if 4K60hz and 10bit HEVC are important to you then you should wait for 7th generation intel cpu to be released, if not your good to go with ALOT of hardware options.

+1... so, it isn't quite the perfect all-in-one box with 4K thrown in. Also, ideally I'd have liked this in OpenELEC vs. Windows, but maybe that's just me.

New HiMedia does do full 4K very well... 60fps and HDR, but external player solution as before.

Yep i also prefer openelec. Getting closer to my ideal mediaplayer!

Yeah I'd use an rpi2/3 over windows any day. I don't have atmos in my audio system. I don't have 4K setup, so there is no downside.

But Windows does streaming.

What streaming?

Quick question here chaps.

I have a decent box running a Sapphire hd 5450 card running Openelec on a 5.2 surroundsound setup. This is then hooked up to a 92" screen with an optoma HD28 projector

I have a few 3d movies but i am yet to get some glasses and give them a run.
Do i have to change many settings in kodi to accommodate 3d movies?
I ran a 3d film quickly and used the movies default setting and the film ran on 2 sides of the screen. Is there a preferred setting 3d movies should run in?

Thanks
N

First post should give you your answers. Since SBS output i would assume you have 3D files someone has encoded into HSBS format. you should be able to turn 3D on via your projectors remote and that should combine those 2 images into 1 3D picture.

It does appear that without an addons / samsung trickery my NUC i5 Haswell is doing full 3D MVC, and something new is that it is automatically switching SBS 3d as well as recognized by the tv. Perhaps it was the upgrade to Windows 10 that made the magic happen.

I have a number of kodi boxes as well, spanning back to Arctic M00001s,

A chrome box,
Nvidia Shield Android TV
I5 Haswell NUC

I have 4 3D Tvs available to trial test.

A sharp 80" LC80LE844U 240hz 3D
Mits 73" DLP with 3D Adapter for Checkerboard and conversion to full frame
A samsung 78" HU9000 3D with an SEK3500 OCB / *JS mode*
A samsung UN46H7150 3D 46"

This is exciting news to hear about intel's hardware 3D MVC / decoding.

I still yearn for this function on an Nvidia Shield....I know nvidia is listening / just moving slow on this. Maybe now that 3D is pretty much dead with exception to high end models and LG, Sony...perhaps its possible and some info will be shared between chipset manufacturers, and developers.

I for one am glad I have some 3D displays to enjoy 3D for a number of years to come.
