RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2018-09-26 Yes, even if I don't often require help, I read this regularly and I'm always impressed by the amount of support provided here. I hope this inspires aracnoz to gift us with a Leia version. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - skr1107 - 2018-09-27 Thank you so much for all your hard work and setting up this page to download PayDay Crime War APK RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - jools5000 - 2018-09-29 I've just upgraded the HTPC with a GT 1030 and can finally do 4K HDR. I've obviously switched to DSPlayer and got HDR pass-through working reasonably well I do notice sometimes that starting playback gives a black screen, closing and reopening Kodi seems to fix this. Also videos stutter a little when starting for the first 1-2 seconds. As the material i'm playing is pretty HQ to start with, I'm not using most of MadVR. I've got everything set to hardware/DXVA wherever possible to reduce load. I'm more concerned that this port may not continue and are interested in options. I don't need video processing, just real HDR output. While Kodi 18 handles HDR, its only tone mapping from what I understand which will compress the dynamic range so it looks OK on an SDR display or HDR display in SDR mode. Obviously the ideal is for Kodi to support native HDR output but as the current scheme is hacky using Nvidia/AMD private API's, I understand why they dont want to support this currently Any options? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-09-29 not heard of those issues, their have been some recent issues with both NVIDIA and AMD card not switching. You should consult the MADVR forum to find out which is the best driver version and make sure you are on the latest version. Also update LAV filters, the version this comes with are out of date now, you need update these in the install folder. Also, don't check fullscreen exclusive mode in DSPlayer or madVR. The GT 1030 shouldn't be doing anything beyond the madVR defaults (in fact, I would recommended resetting madVR to its defaults from the installation folder and using those settings for image processing). You also have very limited VRAM (2GB), so you should reduce the CPU and GPU queues to 8/8 and present frames in advance to 6 or lower. As for your build options concern, the same link uses the official builds of KODI to achieve what you seek. Contrary to some folks beliefs, nVidia pioneered HDR early on years ago while other popular GPU manufactures did nothing and offered nothing. Those years ago there were a few drivers that had problems switching in and out of HDR mode as development commenced. Within a few months of driver releases it was perfected and remains perfected since way back then. There are no "usual HDR problems switching" often claimed by those using competitive cheaper GPU's which in themselves are problematic evidenced by the amount of same user complaints. No idea how you derive that private API's are hacky? Been working pretty damn reliable and perfect for me all these years. Your only other choices are Windows HDR which has its own set of problems and in another month or so is going to be HDR rich with improvements or to convert HDR to SDR which for anyone with HDR capable equipment seems kinda' silly imo. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-09-29 aw bless, seems someone needed to come to the rescue of NVIDIA again, i've amended my post so you can put your dummy back in. for clarification, I didnt mention AMD cards because it wasnt relevent, he wasnt using one. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - brazen1 - 2018-09-30 At times your fake news and false information gets wildly out of hand misleading the inquisitive seeking help and answers - not just here but elsewhere as well. No one is coming to nVidia's rescue. It doesn't need it. What is needed is input from others so that the OP can evaluate all their options to the questions they ask no matter how much you detest others answering as well. I'm sure the private API would go if Windows provided a standard method for HDR switching (which is currently doesn't) RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-09-30 you poor thing, it must be exhausting having to stalk my every post, analyse and correct them for your own narrative. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-09-30 all looking good here, just upgraded to AMD 18.9.3, LAV 70.2.15 and MADVR v0.92.17 - so far everything seems to be working well, HDR switch, 3D switch, 23hz playback, colour sat problem also still fixed. havent tested to see if there has been any progress with refresh rate switching bug with MADVR and AMD cards coming out of 3D MVC back to a 4k desktop yet but its good to see all the basics working very well. I use NGU sharp medium with most content. However, you do have to lower the queues as Warner306 said. Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mkohman - 2018-10-01 Hi Guys, Please forgive me if this has already been covered in a previous post but I need advice in some of MadVR features involving those who have a 2.39:1 scope screen with a projector. I have recently changed my 16.9 setup to a 2.39:1 setup and built a new screen. Most of my movies (99%) that I watch on this setup are wide screen format and I use my JVC projector to zoom the top and bottom black bars away and fill the screen with the movie. I notice that madVR has functions that may assistance with this setup under screen config and zoom control... Can someone with a similar setup who are using these features or someone who knows about these features and believe this may be helpful please assist me and give me some tips... Also there is apparently a way to overcome the multi format movies (ie Nolan movies) what is the setting for that please? Thanks I advance for all your help.. |
