RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - robl45 - 2018-12-30 How would you do framepack 3d in the v18 kodi without dsplayer? And for remotes I was really talking apps. I can make it work with media center controls, but at least the app I have, its much slower than using a wifi remote and it doesn't show the now playing info. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - brazen1 - 2018-12-30 I use the official versions of KODI (LEIA v.18 currently) with an external player capable of frame packed 3D. MPC-HC, MPC-BE, (with madVR and LAV FIlters) and PowerDVD v.18 to be exact. This way I can play full rips as they were intended including menus and all the extras. Or, main movie only that apply enhancements if I think I need them and forgo the menus. Or, start playback with PowerDVD, watch all the extras and menu interactions including previews, then switch and watch the main movie with an MPC player and get the best of both worlds. I do this without leaving KODI and just press a button on my remote. I really don't understand your remote control comments? Using a Harmony, media center controls are standard if you add them. Now playing info is a matter of choice. Either set the player to show it or turn it off. Speed isn't an issue for me. WiFi remote is limited in comparison to what a Harmony is capable of although WiFi works in a limited environment. If your app has limitations, then you're limited what you can do with it should you desire advanced usage. If this equates to using a limited player to match your limited hardware, then your horizons are narrowed and that's that. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2018-12-31 latest AMD driver breaks 3D for me, totally crashes my PC to black screen, have to cold boot, i've had this issue before with other drivers. My preferred driver right now is 18.11.1 RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - robl45 - 2019-01-01 So I tried again tonight, works fine , but every time I press stop, it ends up at black screen, using trick of force exclusive mode stop does not help. If I don't use full screen exclusive, I don't get 3d. If I press back instead of stop, then I could start different movies etc, but as soon as I press stop on a 3d movie, it black screens. I can even start another movie if I can figure out which place to press while its in black screen. Does anyone know how to solve? I suppose its livelable if I remove stop from the remote, but I'd prefer it work correctly. Are you frame rate matching, if so are you using KODI DS or MADVR? do you have windowed mode enabled in KODI DS? in MADVR only tick FSE and DIRECT3D11, nothing else. Does it also do this in MPC-HE using LAV as external filters? If you drop your PC desktop in 1080p and thus have your KODI GUI in 1080p (assuming you currently are 4k) does it stop? please update your sig with your hardware specs and config. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - robl45 - 2019-01-02 Display matching in kodi. 1080p display,I don't do 4k. It does with all 3d. 2d works I believe. External player works fine RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2019-01-02 post your full hardware and software specs, cant do much to help without knowing your setup. However, black screen on 3D stop suggest AMD card me, however I only go this when using MADVR refresh rate matching with my 4k card, there is a bug coming out of 1080p back to 4k@60hz on my system with MADVR, I now drop into 4k@23hz before going into KODI DS using a batch file. drop into 1080p@23hz before you start KODI DS, does this fix it? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - robl45 - 2019-01-02 i am using skylake I3 internal graphics. computer is set to 1080p 23 all the time. While display matching is set in Kodi, I don't believe it does anything as all the movies use that same resolution. I am running windows 10. See below for info. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2019-01-03 ive been having another look at 3d today, I do periodically to see if anything has stopped working, got better or worse. Its defo got worse to an extent since win 10 1809, however I can get both 3D and HDR without using FSE now, but I get frame drops regardless of what I do, the only way to get stable playback for me is still to use FSE. I also get black screens in all apps now when I stop 3D when using FSE, if I drop to windows overlay this stops so FSE if definitely the culprit, but i think we all knew that Microsoft had broken FSE which is why some people are going back to win8. I have to ways around this issue I can either boot DS into 2160p23 mode so when 3d stops it doesnt drop back to 2160p mode, something FSE doesn't seem to be able to do with 3D anymore. Or I can simply turn off RESTORE ORIGINAL DISPLAY MODE in MADVR. So for me with my AMD card, if I want flawless playback I still have to use FSE for both HDR and 3D or I get frame drops. Oddly however, in MPC-BE its the opposite, if I use FSE i get frame drops and without clean playback. What a mess windows 10 is at the moment, starting to think about going back to win8 again....
