RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - curael - 2019-05-19 I had this great idea to install Kodi 18 as a regular application in Program Files, and then run DSplayer Krypton in portable mode.. When you drag a file onto the -p shortcut it will quick play the file in Kodi DSplayer.. GREAT FIX! Then I'd figure out how to actually get the file info back into 18 afterwards.. But.. You know.. Ofc. I can't run 2 Kodi.exe instances at the same time, so my quest died early. :| Now that I'm analyzing this, it's clearly a sign of desperation on my own side. I'm just trying to get DSplayer to play the movies externally, while maintaining the OSD and all the Kodi features I'm used to. But nooo.. Only one Kodi.exe instance at a time. Dang nabbit! RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - spencerjford - 2019-05-20 Even if you rename the dsplayer to say kodidsplayer.exe ? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Albinator - 2019-05-21 I've tried what curael posted and it still doesn't work if you change the .exe name. I also tried running Kodi with Sandboxie and then you get multiple exe's but it crashes or doesnt play anything. It might work in some other way maybe, nice idea tho. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - le__ - 2019-05-25 (2019-05-19, 16:24)curael Wrote: I can't run 2 Kodi.exe instances at the same time, so my quest died early. :| Interesting... So I tried to open the dsplayer kodi.exe on an hexeditor, searched for "Kodi" (case sensitive) and found a result at hex-offset BD3544. So I simply replaced the "Kodi" string to "XBMC" (have to keep the same number of chars to not break anything when hexediting) and now Windows recognizes the dsplayer application as "XBMC" and then is possible to also run Kodi18 at the same time. [Edit4]Probably should have renamed as "KDSP", standing for Kodi DSPlayer...[/Edit4] Edit: If there's some kind of cli switch or something that would close the dsplayer right after the video stops, it could be used as a almost transparent external player for Kodi18... Edit2: Installing the addon "Kodi Callbacks", setting to listen to the event "onPlayBackEnded" and set it to run the build-in task "Quit", will make it close itself when the playback is finished or stopped. Edit3: Screenshots In my case, the next step would be create new remote control rules to redirect all the key presses to the dsplayer when it's window is found. And see how the "watched" status would perform (I used very little the external player function). I'm glad I shared this. I will definitely have a go at this later tonight. Also, in my case, about redirecting the remote control, a simple Autohotkey script would be sufficient to activate what you call the XBMC window. So basically a simple if Kodi exist, do. And if Kodi and XBMC exist, then activate XBMC. Oh man. This is gonna be a janky work around, but if it ends up working, I'm a happy camper. But there's also the whole play state thing and the fact that DSplayer needs to scrape shows too. Perhaps making a shortcut that calls both applications on startup with Kodi activated and DSplayer scraping in the background. And then just have DSplayer take over on playback. Damn this is exciting! RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - mclingo - 2019-05-25 Hi, what are the advantages of running a hacked version of KODI DS as portable external player in stock KODI over just using any other player like MPC-HC / BE? edit: just occurred to me you'd be able to more easily access the MADVR features and menus, anything else? RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - curael - 2019-05-25 (2019-05-25, 13:23)mclingo Wrote: Hi, what are the advantages of running a hacked version of KODI DS as portable external player in stock KODI over just using any other player like MPC-HC / BE? You got it. Streamlined for media center where MPC is made for a mouse and the UI looks jank, has no scraper info or any nice way of displaying any options from a couch. It's good for mouse use on a screen close by, but I, personally, don't wanna use it in a media center setup. It's a good player though, of course. If the DSplayer thing ends up working it'll be great. Otherwise I'll stick to Krypton DS. The Kodi integration in DSplayer is too good to give up. Personally, again, of course. ^^ RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2019-05-28 Am I the only one to whom, on video playback stop, Kodi goes back to the home screen, instead of the library view where the selected video had been chosen? I'm using DSPlayer x64 build. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2019-05-28 That was happening to me when ReloadSkin() was in my keyboard.xml. Try again without your keyboard.xml. https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222576&pid=1966593#pid1966593 RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - ashlar - 2019-05-28 (2019-05-28, 13:49)Warner306 Wrote: That was happening to me when ReloadSkin() was in my keyboard.xml. Unfortunately I don't have ReloadSkin() anywhere in my keyboard.xml It appears to happen only when using madVR Exclusive fullscreen mode (not clear what I lose nowadays from using Windowed). Tried activating debug log but nothing came out of it. No error, nothing. RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - valfy - 2019-05-28 I'm having crashes everytime I start a video file with either several videotracks or audiotracks. For example: Avatar.2009.Extended.Collectors.Edition.3in1.Hybrid.1080p.BluRay.x264-VietHD (Which has 3 video tracks) And: 3.Idiots.2009.BluRay.1080p.DTS.x264-DON (Which has a commentary track) The files play in mpc-be and madvr. They also play in Kodi's own VideoPlayer. The logs aren't telling me much except: Quote:19:19:36.615 T:6472 NOTICE: CStreamsManager::LoadIAMStreamSelectStreamsInternal Audio stream found : Hindi [hin] (dts, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 1536 kb/s) - index: 1 Any help would be appreciated RE: Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows - Warner306 - 2019-05-28 (2019-05-28, 16:22)ashlar Wrote:(2019-05-28, 13:49)Warner306 Wrote: That was happening to me when ReloadSkin() was in my keyboard.xml. No need to use fullscreen exclusive mode. |
