XBMC in campervan - Benen - 2015-06-30

Hi all ?

I currently use a pi for my home media centre. I'd like to add one to a camper van with a big monitor for movies in bad weather on longer trips.
I have excellent speakers ready to go in to the van but no amplifier yet. From what I can see, car amplifiers all need rca input rather than hdmi.
I absolutely don't want to use the built in speakers on the monitor/TV (possibly Samsung ultra wide at this stage.)
I've hunted and hunted but have been unable to find a solution to the audio issue. I can plug hdmi from the pi into the monitor but the monitor will only do 2.0 back out to an amp.
Any ideas? I've looked at cheap products on eBay that I'd rather not use and more expensive ones from company's like kordz, ezyhd and collective.

Thanks!

Benen

Why not use the rca/analog audio output of the pi and go to the car amp from there?
