Render Method: Auto Detect - CraigNZ - 2015-07-31 I normally use DXVA-HD as the render method but last night I had a problem with the movie "Code of Silence". When playing the movie the first screen you select the language, the second screen you select play or scene selection etc. When I select play the audio begins but no video. You have to use CTL-ALT-DEL to stop Kodi and then restart. I fixed this by changing the Render method to Auto .. now it works perfectly. My question then is how does Auto Detect know which Renderer to select (DXVA-HD, DXVA, Pixel Shaders, Software)? And when watching the movie how can you tell which renderer is used? Ideally I would like DXVA-HD to be used for for all movies except these odd ones like Code of Silence. For this movie I am not sure which renderer it decided to use. This is a Windows 7 system with Intel core i7-4790 3.6GHz and Kodi 15 RC2 July 11 build. |
