exactly what I was thinking. Thats why I asked. Thanks CHI3f

Is there an easy way for me to get rid of or turn down the volume on the sound that plays when xTV starts?

yep... just delete it. I don't know about xTV but in PMIII the start up sound is in xbmcRoot\skin\Project Mayhem III\sounds and is called start.wav. I'm sure xTV has a similar structure.

Thanks. In the xTV sounds folder there was a startup.wav. I copied it off, used audacity to drop it by 25db and then copied it back. Thanks.

Hi, could you upload your new startup.wav file somewhere for me please? Cheers.

- lingenfr_xbmc - 2008-06-29

They don't allow attachments. It is 1.4MB in size.

How about using a free upload service like this (I googled free file upload) http://www.megafileupload.com/

Thanks.

OK. Here you go. That site was a nogo so I tried another one. I may have reduced the volume too much for some. The problem is that with a subwoofer, the startup and the xbox flubber sound shake the whole house.

I wish there was a way to get rid of the flubber sound with a soft mod.

Well, I've got an Xeceuter 3 CE and I turned that off before I started on this project. Are you sure there isn't a TSOP flash that does that?

- Cocophone - 2008-06-30

The softmod takes effect after the xbox boots up.

Is anyone else having issues with XTV skin in Linux?
Older versions of XTV work properly but latest SVN 1549 does not 'highlight' selection when scrolling, and does not show any XTV icons, just text.
XBMC Linux is latest SVN build.
XBMC XTV skin is latest SVN build.

Can you maybe make a screenshot of that?

sorry - never mind, I was using Remote Desktop to build the XTV skin, so there was a D3D error during the build that I did not catch.
Build on local pc, and media folder creates properly.
