I want to stream movie files I have on my pc to my Android phone. What would be the way to do this?
I have kodi installed on both devices but have no clue how to achieve it

Basically you need to setup Samba on your PC and then attach Pc and smartphone on same network.
Then in kodi on your smartphone just add that Samba source and you will be able to access those folders on your smartphone.

I managed to make it work using UpNp
Smb only gave me limited folders... Not the ones I was looking for
What's the difference between using samba Vs smb vs UpNp?
