Bluetooth link lost to headset when playing a video file - k0disin - 2016-03-03

Hi all,

I've updated from XBMC to Kodi Jarvis (and now a nightly build), and I'm having problems with my previously working bluetooth headset.

I can hear the sounds navigating the Kodi Main menu, but when I try to play a video file, it disconnects completely from the OS (loses the bluetooth link).

It worked fine with XBMC. It works fine with VLC. Anyone has a clue of what can be the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Same problem here.

Latest OS X on a 2006 Mac mini, with Kodi 16.1.

Bose QC35 Bluetooth 4 headset.

Navigation sounds come in to the headphones, putting on a movie = no audio. Shutting the movie off = navigation sounds return.

Seems to me that Kodi should strictly follow the system's audio signal configuration when talking to bluetooth headsets, as the OS does the streaming to Bluetooth.

Just tried on XBMC 13.2, Kodi 15.0 and Kodi 16.1. Same problem with each. Nav sounds play, but video audio doesn't. Headphone beeps once when video starts. Probably to tell me the audio signal is bad.

Fixed! With thanks to daftykins on IRC.

- Go to Settings -> System -> Audio
- Set Output Configuration to Fixed
- In the newly shown Limit Sampling Rate, set 44KHz.

And you're good to go.
