As has already been stated, this isn't going to make it into Kodi 17, so there's a lot of work to be done. True. I'm a nip it in the bud type. My concern is if it isn't addressed alongside things addressed with NUC, it'll be left behind, and far too behind to catch up. 3 builds now, far from immediate. I'm actually really pleased with the 0401 build. Imo, it was perfect from an MVC standpoint. All it needed was an update now and then to keep up with the v.17 main branch which in itself had problems. Now that v.17 main branch problems are getting worked out, it does Nvidia users no good. We're stuck on that build in the same main branch problems. There's still hope, as long I/we keep reminding every time a new build is released. The problems start when others request I don't interrupt builds for NUC hardware which obviously hasn't interrupted anything. Further complications from the OP stating I'm simply doing things improperly will surely leave him assuming all is well with Nvidia as it gets deeper left behind and much harder to diagnose, let alone repair. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - wesk05 - 2016-04-12 @brazen1: I checked 4/11 and 4/1 builds and both of them work on my Dell laptop (Core i7 2720Q (Sandy Bridge), nVIDIA GT555m graphics, driver version 355.6, Windows 8.1 x64). I haven't copied libmfxw32.dll to Kodi directory. I have only installed Intel MSDK. With 4/1 build I can run it in true fullscreen mode, on 4/11 build it runs only in windowed full screen. I get an exception loop error in true full screen mode. Also on both the builds, I have a problem with Kodi GUI size when exiting from 3D mode. Other than that I am not seeing an issue with 3D playback. Actually, these issues occur only when connected to an external display. It works fine on my laptop's native 3D screen. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - Statikk - 2016-04-12 @afedchin I noticed the first post is still on 4/7 build. Should I be testing that right now or the 4/11? I wasn't sure if maybe you decided to pull the 4/11. Thanks for all of your hard work on this!! RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - afedchin - 2016-04-12 you can test 4/11 build, I just didn't update the first post. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - SofaKng - 2016-04-12 dukester, are you still running the i3-6100? If so, what settings are you using? If I enable fullscreen window (not true fullscreen), then the 3D works but motion looks off. If I enable true fullscreen (as suggested), then I get flickers and the framerate is off. (I've tried pause/resume as afedchin suggested but that didn't help) RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - dukester - 2016-04-12 (2016-04-12, 15:10)SofaKng Wrote: dukester, are you still running the i3-6100? I am using a i3 6300 which is basically the same except HD graphics 520 vs 530 Last build 0411 i get glitches/dropped frames/wrong frame rate too, im pretty much going to just settle on 0325 build for now as its working with the least issues. (0401 seemed ok also, but anything after that a pvr addon i use updates and breaks functionality) 0407 iirc was the only build i needed to enable use fullscreen window, and i thought playback looked good without issues im using "stock" settings from the OP Settings/Videos/Playback/Adjust Display Refresh Rate/On start / stop Settings/Videos/Playback/Stereoscopic 3d movies/Preferred mode Settings/Videos/Acceleration/Decode 3D stereo videos/Checked Settings/Videos/Dics/Play Main Movie Settings/System/Use a fullscreen window Unchecked RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - SofaKng - 2016-04-12 Thanks a lot for the information! I'll give build 0325 a try and I also didn't try 0411 so I'll also try that. I mean absolutely no disrespect but I've already been explaining the problems to the best of my ability. Here are some recaps so I don't have to rewrite from a fresh start and so it's easier for you to understand our conversation since I know you deal with many others. In your log Kodi unable to find libmfxsw32.dll. There is no problem with decoding. It is decoding. The immediate problems are inability to disable 'Use a fullscreen window' and 'Jerky, slow motion playback, frame drops, frame skips' and video constantly freezing with buffering pop up. I don't know how to describe it? Audio playback is perfect while video is playing slow motion skipping frames. It is completely unwatchable. I only tested 3D iso's. Also, when starting KODI and it's checking for new sources, an error appears. I don't remember what it was anymore? Reverting back to 0401, all these problems go away. No settings were changed between releases in logs provided but I did experiment to no avail after log uploads. I fresh installed the broken builds many times and retried using them with the same results just to rule out any possible one time glitch exceptions. Thank you for your continued efforts trying to include Nvidia users with your exceptional build. Really appreciate it. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - brazen1 - 2016-04-12 Here is yet another log hoping it's easier to diagnose. This is with a fresh userdata folder. Fullscreen is OFF. I still need to press \ twice so that the screen is not blank. 3D iso slow mo skip frame issue is present. After quitting playback results in black screen again and requires \ twice again in order to display GUI. If I ENABLE fullscreen, there is no issue with black screens, but bad 3D iso playback remains either way, on or off. This is for 0407 build. 0411 build results in a network problem so KODI repository to enable uploader logging cannot connect to repository. I don't know why that happens? Connection is available, network isn't. Only 0411 build does this. This is why I'm sending log for 0407. I can send log for 0411 showing all this another time. http://xbmclogs.com/ptykmsrcv DEBUG: CInputManager::OnKey: backslash (0xf05c) pressed, action is ToggleFullScreen 713.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinSystemWin32::SetFullScreenEx (true fullscreen) on screen 0 with size 1920x1080, refresh 60.000000 714.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinSystemWin32::ResizeInternal - resizing due to size change (589,255,1331,791)->(0,0,1920,1080 fullscreen) 715.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinEventsWin32::WndProc: window move event 716.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinEventsWin32::WndProc: window resize event 717.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinEventsWin32::WndProc: window move event 718.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinEventsWin32::WndProc: window resize event 719.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CRenderSystemDX::SetFullScreenInternal - Switching swap chain to fullscreen state. 720.10:49:47 T:7040 DEBUG: CWinSystemWin32::OnDisplayLost - notify display lost event 721.10:49:48 T:7040 DEBUG: CRenderSystemDX::SetFullScreenInternal - Current display mode is: [email protected] 722.10:49:48 T:7040 DEBUG: CRenderSystemDX::SetFullScreenInternal - Found matched mode: [email protected] 723.10:49:48 T:7040 DEBUG: CRenderSystemDX::SetFullScreenInternal - Switching mode to [email protected]. 724.10:49:48 T:7040 DEBUG: CRenderSystemDX::CreateWindowSizeDependentResources - (Re)Create window size (1920x1080) dependent resources. 1054.10:50:02 T:3900 ERROR: ffmpeg[F3C]: [NULL] sps_id 1 out of range 1123.10:50:03 T:6436 DEBUG: CDVDClock:iscontinuity - CVideoPlayerAudio::OutputPacket - was:725239.234070, should be:28.810644, error:-725210.423427 RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - brazen1 - 2016-04-12 (2016-04-12, 05:15)wesk05 Wrote: @brazen1: I checked 4/11 and 4/1 builds and both of them work on my Dell laptop (Core i7 2720Q (Sandy Bridge), nVIDIA GT555m graphics, driver version 355.6, Windows 8.1 x64). I believe that is a stacked CPU with an Nvidia GPU on it which is very different from a CPU with a GPU mounted on a pcie bus. Your log shows you are not using an advancedsettings.xml which is required for an Nvidia GPU. I assume mounted on the die or a bus would not matter but evidently it does further showing stacked CPU/GPU work, bus mounted don't. This all gets pretty crazy confusing after a while..... I assume all Intel stacked chips use Intel HD GPU's and wonder if they ran some special for your Dell using Nvidia instead? Maybe your CPU isn't stacked and your Nvidia is motherboard direct solder? Getting lost in all this. Some work, some don't. Out of ideas. I did see in your log, as in mine, with different values: 1123.10:50:03 T:6436 DEBUG: CDVDClock:iscontinuity - CVideoPlayerAudio::OutputPacket - was:725239.234070, should be:28.810644, error:-725210.423427 Are you sure your 3D iso decode is smooth and perfect? Maybe that's unrelated and means nothing. Not a coder, but looks peculiar. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - MrBfJohn - 2016-04-13 Build 407 GTX 980 - Driver 359.06 LG Passive 3DTV Log - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33898616/kodi.log The only real issues I have are very bad ghosting, and it doesn't seem to auto detect which eye is first. For instance Gravity plays in the correct order, but Prometheus is reversed. It's not too much of an issue now I've found the invert eye setting, but the ghosting is really bad. Is this something I can tweak with a setting somewhere? Cheers in advance John *EDIT* Just noticed there was a 411 build. I've installed in and now I'm getting "ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting". I've tried deleting "profiles.xml", which seems to be the usual fix for this but it hasn't helped. Mine is a 3D version and so nVIDIA Optimus (graphics switcher) is permanently disabled. Correct, I wasn't using advacedsetting.xml. GUI size problem on exit could have been due to that. For the short time that I tested, the playback seemed to be smooth. Will have to check again to see what happens over time. RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - dukester - 2016-04-13 moved to this build recently KodiSetup-20160411-08a8642-msdk_mvc_vs2013. http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/win32/KodiSetup-20160411-08a8642-msdk_mvc_vs2013.exe nothing to really report except it seems good to go for video quality in 3D and audio sync. Scrapers, pvr addons, etc etc all are workiing too RE: Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds - jwkd12 - 2016-04-13 Hi, i have an old laptop with intel CPU i3-2330M and GPU HD3000, does it support hardware MVC decoding? I installed the 4/11 build and it doesn't seem decoding MVC properly. it seems only recognizing the left (or right) eye feed of the two feeds MVC ISO file. If I force switching to side by side or over and under 3D mode, it simply splits the one eye feed into half and treats each half as one eye. If my hardware doesn't support MVC decoding, how do I enable software decoding. I tried using "software" render in Video/Acceleration menu and also copied the intel media SDK libraries as indicated by early posts but nothing works. BTW, I installed the 4/11 build on another laptop with CPU i7-4700HQ, GPU HD4600. the 3D bluray video runs smoothly without any glitches. I really like it and finally I can get rid of Power DVD now |
