KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - KELLY C - 2016-03-26

I just downloaded Kodi and it is crashing when I try to go into file manager to add-on. My computer is a mac OS X 10.7.5 and the Kodi I downloaded was Kodi 16. I don't know a lot about computers but I do have the firewall turned off. What else can be the problem? I have been trying to fix this all last night.

At a minimum you need to post the crash report (the report your computer wants to send to Apple) to pastebin.com and post the link here. You also need to post a link to a debug log (wiki).

Here are more suggestions for resolving your issue.

Thank you WGSTARKS for helping me get this started and hope somebody can help me. I think this is what you are asking for…..

I don't know where to get a debug log. I enabled debugging 2 days ago and it looks like it is scanning but nothing is happening other than this numbers keep changing

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - Martijn - 2016-03-27

Should be fixed in upcoming 16.1rc2 iirc
There should be a new jarvis build in this folder in couple of hours. http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/osx/x86_64/

I rebooted my Kodi and it is working now so I went to the file manager and added the add-ons I wanted. Go to system and click on install zip files and now it is crashing there…. This is the crash report…..

Did you read Martijn's previous post? There will be a fix in 16.1rc2 (which is not available yet) but might show up in a couple of hours...

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - wgstarks - 2016-03-27

You need to install the kodi-20160327 file which Martijn posted the link to.

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - KELLY C - 2016-03-27

Oh that is great news! I thought the fix was just for not getting File Manager working. Like I said I don't have a lot of knowledge with this stuff. I'm just following what others say and do. Thanks so much for the help Smile

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - Martijn - 2016-03-27

Does it work now?

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - kieransmith - 2016-03-27

Had the same problem. Downloaded new jarvis thing, installed, still the same.

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - KELLY C - 2016-04-01

I clicked on the file and it downloaded. I double clicked the downloaded file and it didn't seem to do anything. It is still crashing Sad

RE: KODI CRASHES IN FILE MANAGER - wgstarks - 2016-04-01

If it didn't do anything then it didn't crash. Sounds like you haven't done something correctly.

When you click the link which file did you download? Should be http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/osx/x86_64/kodi-20160331-07efe0e--x86_64.dmg.

After the download completes you can double click the file and this window should open-
Image

Drag the Kodi icon to the Applications folder icon.

Now double click the Kodi app in your applications folder.
