Rpi2 & HiFiBerry Digi+: sound settings questions - gurabli - 2016-04-26 Hi, I'm using OE latest official beta2 (will migrate to LE 7 final soon) with HiFiBerry Digi+ on RPi2. I have a good old amp and 5.1 speakers. The amp doesn't have HDMI input, only optical/coaxial, the reason I got the Digi+. I'm completely fine with 5.1 DTS and DD sound. However, I encounter quite often that DTS-HD, Dolby Atmos, etc are available on my sources. Some examples: Dolby Atmos Audio..: ENG 5692 Kbps 7.1 (AC3 Embedded: 5.1-EX / 48 kHz / 384 kbps / DN -4dB) DTS-HD Master Audio: ENG 4686 Kbps 7.1 (DTS Core: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 1509 kbps / 24-bit) In this case, if I'm not mistaken, the Atmos track contains the AC3 Embedded track too that I can play over optical out on Digi+, and also I can choose DTS Core 5.1 as the DTS-HD track has that too. Do I see it correctly? In this case, what should I enable in Kodi Audio settings? Passthrough should be ON, DD and DTS capable receiver ON, anything else? What can I do if for example I only have a Dolby Atmos Audio track? Can Pi2 convert it to 5.1 over SPDIF and send it to my amp that I can have 5.1 sound? If using Digi+, should I have Sync playback to video ON or OFF? Thanks! |
