Mac or Rpi? - Ricksastar - 2016-05-20

Noob here....

Can someone tell me the advantages or disadvantages of running Kodi from my Mac vs a Raspberry pi?

Thread moved to hardware.

Have a look at some of the sticky threads in here for some good advice on choosing devices.

Kodi will work very well on a raspberry pi 2 or pi 3. The pi only uses about 4 Watts of power, is completely silent, and is smaller than a large matchbox. The Mac has a picture of an apple on it, and has none of the advantages listed for the rpi. The Mac may be powerful enough to play Japanese Anime cartoons, and h265 content, but you didn't tell us what Mac it is, or what you are using it for.
