Hi all,
First up I must say this is a great skin. Well done to the authors.
When I add a widget to a main menu item, for example the Video or Movie menus, the widget itself is not shown, but the first level of it is. In my case I add a video add on to the Video menu as a widget, but instead of showing an the add on icon, it shows the first level contents of the widget (ie, Movies, TV shows, New Movies, etc....).
I found a way to do what I want via favorites, but it's a compromise for me.
Is there a way to show video add on widgets as an icon only like in the Confluence skin?

widget = content (so NOT shortcut)
submenu = shortcut
So, in your case I suggest you to add a submenu to your main menu item. You can even set that submenu as a widget if that's what you prefer.
BTW: You're talking about a banned add-on here, please edit your post.
