Use USB drive to boot and run Kodi - Hennie - 2016-09-06 Hi I cleaned out the house and found my Appletv 1st gen (Silver) that was not used for a very long time. I tried to boot it up but the hard drive inside is stuffed and are making noise. Is there a step by step guide for dummies on how to run kodi from a usb drive and bypass the harddrive. Thank you for the help Hennie [email protected] RE: Use USB drive to boot and run Kodi - live4ever - 2016-09-06 Follow this: http://chewitt.openelec.tv/appletv/ RE: Use USB drive to boot and run Kodi - Hennie - 2016-09-06 Hi live4ever I followed the link and are downloading the -- Install to USB: OpenELEC-ATV.i386-6.0.1-usb.img.gz file. Should i just copy and paste it to the flash drive? Sorry for sounding like an idiot but to be honest, i am a dummy when it comes to hacking and coding etc. (I did have the 1080 crystal installed) RE: Use USB drive to boot and run Kodi - wrxtasy - 2016-09-07 Extra flashing tools may be needed to be downloaded to flash the .img to a USB of HDD. Follow the appropriate links to download the appropriate flashing tools. Quote:Make a Backup - Make the Installer USB on MacOS, Windows, Linux - Restore a Backup |
