I just received my brand new AMD RX560 4GB Video Card, installed it and did a clean install of Libreelec and then the update to the latest Milhouse build - now while everything is playing video wise - audio is another matter altogether. Every audio track including the Kodi GUI sounds as well as any audio format, Dolby Digital, Dolby Tru-HD etc. playback choppy, with noticeable static and in the case of the GUI sounds multiple times. In order to prove that the hardware side of things was ok, I performed a clean install of Windows 10, Kodi DSPlayer & MadVR and everything plays perfectly. Is there a bug in the AMD drivers side of things in Linux? Any help would be greatly accepted.

That's entirely possible - you could try the 4.18.0 build to see if there is any improvement.

I would also suggest trying older builds, such as the last 4.14.49 release in case it's a regression in 4.17.y. Also test earlier 4.17.y releases, again to rule out a recent regression.

Note that with 4.14.49 you may not have video at all (this kernel may pre-date AMD support for your GPU), so make sure you've enabled ssh and/or Samba in order to upgrade back to a working release by copying the tar file into the /storage/.update folder (ssh) or Update folder (Samba).

Unfortunately I don't have this card so can't test anything myself, but hopefully someone else does.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll certainly give the 4.18.0 build a test, it'll probably be tomorrow before I get a chance but once I have that tested, I'll let you know.

Will that 4.18.0 kernel includes the extra DBV drivers? I'm using the Hauppauge 955Q USB Tuner running LibreELEC 8.x build from CVH for the add-on drivers.

Thank you again for all your suggestions, so I spent the morning trying different builds, each time starting with a clean install and upgrading to your builds so that at least I could have a clean slate to work from. So, build #0615 has video but no audio at all, build #0616 up to the latest #0816 has audio but the constant clicking in the GUI and the dropped audio in video playback is there. So I tried different HDMI cables, same issue. Tired a different TV & Amp setup, same issue, then I just disabled the audio pass-through setting and the audio is fine, except obviously no DTS, DD etc. etc.
As I said before, everything works fine in Windows with Kodi DSPlayer & MadVR, so I'll go back to that for awhile, hopefully a later build will rectify this issue or if someone else comes across a similar issue and has a solution then I'll keep an eye on the forum.
