old laptop - Andrewmtm - 2017-01-07

Hi guys

I am new to Kodi so i am hoping someone can give me some advice
I have dug out an old laptop that i am hoping i can use for Kodi the spec are

Windows Vista Ultimate
Toshiba
Intel Core 2 duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHZ
3Gb Ram
32 Bit Operating System
with HDMI output

i have downloaded V16.1 and it will not load

I had a look at the help page and it said that the minimum Req is Windows Vista so would i be better of using an older version of Kodi or am i missing some update to windows that is needed

the software installs ok but when i try to run kodi i get a message saying

"this application has failed to start because d3d11.dll was not found re-installing the application may fix this problem"

which i have done twice with no effect i get the same message everytime.
thanks Andrew

Could be that you need to update the DirectX version

If you're not using the laptop for anything else, as el penguino said, LibreELEC. Create an install LibreELEC USB flash drive and wipe Windows and replace it with LibreELEC.
