Install additional programs? - Monos - 2017-01-22

Total linux/pi noob here so sry for the basic questions.

Is it possible to install additional programs on these special distributions (like openelec,libre,..) or do i need a "full" os?

I want to install spotify linux client and an dl manager.

Thanks in advance

I would think openelec or libre would have their own package manager independent from kodi you would access via ssh. Other distributions certainly do. This is the preferred method to install other software.

With LibreELEC (and OpenELEC) you install additional programs and services using the normal Kodi package manager, ie. as "add-ons".

There's a Spotify add-on for Kodi: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=265356

Not sure what you mean by "dl manager" - if you need something like Transmission in LibreELEC then install Docker (more details on LibreELEC forum).
