Like some other users reported in Kodinerds forum, these '1280x1080-specific-german-channels' seem to be a frequent problem.
If i can do anything else for further investigations, just let me know!

When the distortion occurs, how long does it last - is it a few seconds, or until you stop playback?

Until i stop playback and start the channel again.

You're asking in the wrong thread. I answered this question most recently here.

They have asked can I try running the DRM Tip to see if it's resolved. Is it possible to get a build using that?

Quote:
Code:
Drmtip will always have latest changes on top of the 5.3 rc6. So we always recommend to use drmtip kernel (https://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-tip).

Try #0829b: Generic

This is based on https://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-tip/commit/?id=317d4ca664ab65fbe571e15c59a39a1bcf58acd1 with the same options as 5.3-rc6 plus the addition of http://ix.io/1TNq (complete config: here). No Nvidia support in this build (as the nvidia drivers don't build against drm-tip).

Might also be worth testing the 5.3-rc6 build.

Happy to report this works well on a gemini lake N5000, will also check on J5005. Assuming the audio sync is fixed too in RC7 that could be all issues fixed. That would be nice. Thanks for the extra builds Wink

EDIT: Also works on J5005, note that it only worked on #0829b and not on 5.3-rc6. I guess as drm-tip is built on top of the RC. Will report back when I know which RC this will go into.

Handy extra bonus, the UI can now be run in 4k without affecting video playback!

Yes, I had a look at the changelog but it’s not obvious if anything was related.

Code:

drm/i915: Call dma_set_max_seg_size() in i915_driver_hw_probe()
drm/i915/dp: Fix DSC enable code to use cpu_transcoder instead
of encoder->type
drm/i915: Do not create a new max_bpc prop for MST connectors
drm/i915: Don't deballoon unused ggtt drm_mm_node in linux guest

Will test with rc7 later today.

Having Kodi crashes when playing h264 10bit mkv files on my AMD 2400G. Files will play but will freeze when selecting a chapter. Normal 8bit h264 and HEVC files play without issue.

Using latest build #914
Crash log: http://ix.io/1Vgy

Throw me/us a bone - when did this issue start (which build)? Is this a recent issue, or has it been there a while?

Your system is spamming the log with dropped "packets", ffmpeg-related warnings and also Matroska read errors (duff files?), however the crash log you posted doesn't relate to a crash *during* playback - it's crashing while Kodi is shutting down. Did you post the wrong crash log? Or are you describing the issue incorrectly and Kodi is not actually crashing during playback, but only freezing while seeking etc.?

Do you have this issue with all h264 10bit mkv files? Maybe post a sample that demonstrates the issue.

No idea why Kodi has actually crashed after shutting down, if this is reproducible then knowing when this started would be helpful.

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 19.0) - hmoney001 - 2019-09-15

I do apologize, I am probably describing this wrong.

It is freezing when I am seeking/skipping forward to a different chapter. I will see a screen that says cache 0% and it will go unresponsive. At this point I have to force restart the machine.

The system was upgraded to the AMD APU in May and I have been having this issue since build #0528. All the 10bit files I've tested will freeze when seeking/skipping to a different chapter.

Which log would best capture this?
