(2016-01-29, 03:23)Oddsodz Wrote: Peek aboo all. Long time user of the iPlayer addon here.

So way back in time. The iPlayer addon used to list radio content from the BBC. Then due to Devs moving on and the BBC changing the way the whole iPlayer system works and new Devs coming onboard, we lost the radio content from the addon. Now, I understand why. And I am not going to bitch at Devs for working on something for no rewards. I am more than thankful for the iPlayer addon. I use it a great deal. I don't have any issues with it at all (I live in England, So I don't need any of that silly proxy settings GeOBlocking workarounds). It works great for TV content.

But with all that said. Would Radio ever come back on to the roadmap for this addon? As silly as it sounds. I miss listening to the drama shows that the BBC does for its radio stations. Right now I have to get the shows manually and drop them in a folder that Kodi can see. I really miss just using the iPlayer addon to find the shows I wish to hear and just stream them direct.

Anyway, Thank you very much for your work on this addon. It is a real joy to have.

Oddsodz
I looked into adding radio a long time ago and it was not straightforward, so I abandoned it. Also, I never used radio in the previous add-on, so it was not a priority.

There was a discussion on radio a couple of pages back in this thread. The feedback seemed to me like there already were good add-ons specifically for radio around. Please check if those would work for you as well. I would rather not reinvent the wheel if I don't have to. Wink

Edit: See this and the following posts on radio: 2212597 (post)

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - bicky - 2016-01-29

Have a look at " listenlive.eu " it's in the music addons.
Select Country U.K then scroll down for the BBC addons. There are loads of radio listings.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - primaeval - 2016-01-29

I've been looking at Radio today and the programme information is pretty sketchy. I can't find anywhere where the programmes are sorted by channel. If anyone knows a good source of information please let us know.

The best info I can see is sorted by genre and a-z.

The highest bitrate streams are listed here:

A quick fix is to put the m3u link in a .strm file and add it to Kodi.

In any event, OSMC will be updated to Kodi 16.0 very soon it looks like. However, I saw a thread on the OSMC forums about micro SDHC cards requiring 4K writes better than 1MB/s for optimal streaming performance, and since mine has 4K writes somewhere south of that, I had been planning to switch to a faster card anyway. I'll report back if that (or the update to Kodi 16.0) fixes the problem.

I am running a RPI version 1 with Openelec 6.0.0 and all the streams play smoothly for me. Have you tried Openelec? The only problems I had with RPI was with using USB DACs or MCE remote controls.

I have 3 Raspberry Pi model 1B and a Raspberry Pi Zero. I have no idea what the spec of my SD cards are other than they are class 10s and the Raspberry Pi Zero has an old class 2 and it all works perfectly.

I've tried a faster card and also OpenELEC 6.0.0 (instead of OSMC) and neither helped - still periodic lagging and stuttering. The only thing that helped was to enable OMXPlayer hardware acceleration and disable MMAL hardware acceleration. (I'm back to using OSMC.) I still get stuttering occasionally, but only once or twice an hour.

There is now a new problem - several shows will not play at all - it seems to be random, but I'm suspecting it might have something to do with pop ups that ask you to certify you're over 16 for "adult humour" etc. I've saved and looked at the kodi.log file, but can't see anything obvious.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - bry - 2016-01-31

Anyone successful in using this on a nexus player? I've tried many settings and the video seems to freeze and stop at about 8 seconds in. The player is hardwired via and ethernet adapter fyi.

I never experienced this, but it sounds like a logical explanation. Could you please provide one or two example programme names so I can duplicate the issue? Thanks a lot.

A couple of pages back, a user reported issues with the add-on using a Nexus and Kodi 15.2. However, these were different issues which affected all Android users and they have been fixed by now. So my best guess is that it should work on Nexus by now.

From your problem description it seems that Kodi plays the first segment of the stream, but then stops retrieving the stream for whatever reason. In any case: whatever happens after a video starts to play is out of control of the add-on. It is purely Kodi handling the playlist.

Thanks for the reply. I'll wait and see if this is fixed via Jarvis when it goes final. Thanks for the prompt response @CaptainT

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tenpercent - 2016-02-01

I'm using a RPi (rev B) running on OpenELEC 5.0.8 (Kodi 14.2). The iPlayer WWW (v1.3.3) was working fine for me 24 hours ago; when I attempt to view "Categories" now, the ensuing screen does not show anything. Just the ".." selection to go back to the previous menu.

Here's what I'm noting from the kodi.log:

That's strange. The only thing I can see in the log are errors regarding an HTTPS connection. However, the add-on only uses HTTP. So these error messages may be unrelated to the empty categories list. Perhaps the Beeb changed the design of the website once again. I will take a look tonight.

Same story here, some warnings on HTTPS which we don't use. The stream URL looks fine, but doesn't play. You might be geoblocked, which would be out of the add-on's scope.

I checked and cannot duplicate any of the issues. So either you got one of the preview versions of new website layouts they sometimes use or there is something wrong on your end. Sorry I don't have better news.

The SNI reference makes me think that the poster's SNI Proxy is not able to handle an HTTPS request made during the process. He/she should contact their proxy server provider to have them correct this problem.

This occurs with the Tracey Ullmann Show - I can watch episode 1, but not 2 or 3. I actually could watch episode 2 before the update of iPlayer WWW to 1.3.3. I also forgot to mention that the channel highlights for BBC 3 are empty, and this has also been the case since the update to 1.3.3
