- FourTwentySmilz - 2008-12-22 44,823 bytes 492x755 @ 72 dpi I've not tested them on the HDTV, but if anyone is like me.....being uniform is better than being blank. Plus....if you are one of the people who hasn't went ahead and bought an HDTV (like my Dad), the images look pretty good in SD. My Dad flipped when he seen it the other week. I've got Undercover Brother on my NAS....I'll pick up some images tonight an post them later. - digitalhigh - 2008-12-22 FourTwentySmilz Wrote:44,823 bytes 492x755 @ 72 dpi I agree with you that having uniformity is much better than gaps...but I won't do it at the cost of quality. I do have a HDTV, and I try to make anything I design accessible to the most amount of people as possible. I also try to keep it within the guidelines of TheMovieDB.org. I'm not trying to be a HD snob or anything, I just think that we should have a standard in mind when we're designing these. And unfortunately, it's rather hard to upscale an 500px image to 1200 without having to surface blur the crap out of the image to compensate. Thus, the suggestion of screenshots. - FourTwentySmilz - 2008-12-22 Totally understand. And I do have an HDTV. 42" Sanyo 720p. It's a matter of choice really. I rarely post at theMovieDb anymore, only because I've been working on the 960x540 pack, and restored both the xbox and PC. But I still have a 32" SDTV in my bedroom and since installing XBMC on the PC, the xbox stays in there now. - crash123 - 2008-12-22 Hi, Just thought and I would help out and give back a little for the awesome fanarts and added all these to their respective movies on TheMovieDB.org and added Radio. Cheers FourTwentySmilz Wrote:Here is.....Download - digitalhigh - 2008-12-22 After a little more poking around, I found a couple of images I could work with for those requests. http://www.mediafire.com/file/tktwtqjet2m/Finished.rar Edit: All of these images are already uploaded to TheMovieDB already too. - FourTwentySmilz - 2008-12-22 I'll be releasing a 22 (matching) image set for 007. Cheers mate just what i needed for my bond collection keep up the good work your doing. - Rocky5 - 2008-12-24 Here is all my fanart downloaded with Media Companion and some made by me. 960x540 - 295 films worth. Download Code: List of films - smcnally75 - 2008-12-24 Digitalhigh, here are some screenshots i managed to get while I had some free time yesterday http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AHNO3Q9H Everyone else...if you have fanart (or if someone made some for you) please upload it to themoviedb.org otherwise people will be forced to look there and go through this thread to find what they are looking for instead of just looking in one place. - digitalhigh - 2008-12-24 Quote:Here is all my fanart downloaded with Media Companion and some made by me. Okay...what is the deal with 960x540? Why are you guys suddenly coming out with these sets of half-rez images? I think we've kinda talked about this as being because xbmc on xbox doesn't like 1280 rez images? If that's why...dude, it's not doing any good. There isn't going to be some massive difference in speed because you killed the resolution on your fanart. It's just going to give you crappier fanart. And if you're running on a SDTV, then using 960x540 images is totally pointless because you might as well just make them 640x480 and match the SDTV's native resolution anyways. Point is...the half-resolution doesn't make any sense. I guarantee you, if using properly compressed backdrops at 1280x720, you shouldn't have any problems with performance on your Xbox1. I know. Every backdrop I make I use on my Xbox. And they work fine. Edit: Although, looking at some of the art on TMDB, I can see that more than a few of the source images downloaded weren't that great in the first place. - digitalhigh - 2008-12-24 smcnally75 Wrote:Digitalhigh, here are some screenshots i managed to get while I had some free time yesterday http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AHNO3Q9H Dude...very nice. I can do wonders with those screenshots...unfortunately, with today being Xmas eve and all, I am socially bound to other tasks today. I guarantee you tho, you will have some crispiness as a result of those screenshots. Even if you did sneak a few other movies in there. Look in the upload I did a few posts ago...there are already some pretty decent shots I found for Orange County, Shallow Hal, Undercover Brother and Radio. Anything I did is also upped to TMDB already too. - FourTwentySmilz - 2008-12-24 Digi......The 960x540 FanArt has really helped my xbox run better. As you may well know......Most all the xboxes out there run differently. Some have problems with this, others with that. I am really glad you have one of those xboxes that give you no problems, but don't jump in my thread raising hell about what people post. If you don't use anything but 1280x720 FanArt, fine. BUT, Other people use other things, and they don't tell you how wrong you are for not doing things their way. I really, REALLY, enjoy the work you do, and I hope you understand what I am trying to say. It is nothing personal.......just don't crap on other people for not doing things YOUR way. - digitalhigh - 2008-12-24 FourTwentySmilz Wrote:Digi......The 960x540 FanArt has really helped my xbox run better. I'm just trying to understand something that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I have a 1st gen Xbox, so I know I'm pushing the lowest hardware possible. Why mine works fine and yours doesn't is confusing, and it would lead me to believe that it has to be something other than the fanart. So what I'm suggesting is...because you have a lot of people that listen to you in the department of fanart...why not try and see if it's something other than the art before telling everybody they have to run lower resolution graphics? I'm not trying to tell anybody they have to be like me, or use the resolution I say they have to use. But I am trying to say that I think it's utterly unnecessary to take all these images and downgrade them. Use whatever resolution graphics you want. Knock yourself out. I just feel compelled to tell people when it appears that they're wasting their time... |
