How can I enable XScreenSaver support? I've installed the xscreensaver package, but ./configure still shows this: Code: ==================================== - Silvesti - 2009-03-03 olympia Wrote:Try this one: After a reboot the system goes to a command prompt rather than auto-runs into XBMC. However, that being said, the keyboard does work just fine and I'm able to login, but when trying to initiate xbmc via command line I get an error message. You told before, that xbmc runs just fine, but keyboard doesn't work. Not it seems that xbmc is even not running on your system.... - Silvesti - 2009-03-03 olympia Wrote:You told before, that xbmc runs just fine, but keyboard doesn't work. It did work just fine using the previous xorg.conf file, except the keyboard didn't work. After updating with the new xorg.conf that you asked me to download, it doesn't work, yet the keyboard does. If I put the old xorg.conf file back in, the system will boot right into XBMC without any issue, except for the lack of keyboard support. - olympia - 2009-03-03 olympia Wrote:Thanks danillll! Done, thank you again! Ubuntu/XBMC not seeing all available RAM - Bahndit - 2009-03-06 I followed this guide for a box that I built for a friend everything seems to be working great but I am having an interesting problem. I installed 2x 2GB sticks but Ubuntu is only registering 2GB of ram. The Bios sees all of the ram and 'sudo lshw -C memory' Quote: *-memory but 'free -m' and 'top' and XBMC system info only show 2gb total. What is the deal? - karifsmith - 2009-03-06 I've followed the guide several times in the last few weeks successfully. Now, I am getting an error on the Installing the Prerequisites for Intrepid. Code: sudo apt-get install -y localepurge subversion make g++ gcc gawk pmount libtool nasm automake cmake gperf unzip bison libsdl1.2-dev libsdl-image1.2-dev libsdl-gfx1.2-dev libsdl-mixer1.2-dev libsdl-sound1.2-dev libsdl-stretch-dev libfribidi-dev liblzo-dev libfreetype6-dev libsqlite3-dev libogg-dev libasound-dev python-sqlite libglew-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev x11proto-xinerama-dev libxinerama-dev libxrandr-dev libxrender-dev libmad0-dev libtre-dev libogg-dev libvorbis-dev libmysqlclient-dev libpcre3-dev libdbus-1-dev libhal-dev libhal-storage-dev libjasper-dev libfontconfig-dev libbz2-dev libboost-dev libfaac-dev libenca-dev libxt-dev libxmu-dev libpng-dev libjpeg-dev mesa-utils wget zip curl build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r` xorg pm-utils mingetty It gave me a message saying "package libpng-dev is a virtual package you should explicitly select one to install" I then updated the above command by replacing the 'libpng-dev' with 'libpng12-dev' and it seems to be working again. Did the guide change because I did not have this issue last week? - speed32219 - 2009-03-06 I am glad you got it working. It seems that I was missing a few extra packages and I am still getting an error when trying to ./configure. Here is the failing component from the config.log. configure: failed program was: | /* confdefs.h. */ - gotoman00 - 2009-03-06 hey guys got a question... running ubuntu hardy with minimum packages, svn 18298m... used this how-to guide, only at the end i used envy to install my video drivers because x wasn't loading after installing manually.... using a radeon hd3450 gpu with a pentium d, noticing LOTS of video tearing... read up on it and i see it's been an issue for others and there are quite a few patches out there but i've tried all of them and still experiencing lots of tearing... can anyone help? composite is off in xorg.conf, vsync is always enabled in xbmc.... also noticing max cpu at idle only drops when loading video.... - speed32219 - 2009-03-06 Where can I find the file I need to configure the latest svn. It seems there are a few changes with the files needed, so the Wiki's and installation write-ups for (CLI) Intrepid need to be updated. I need the following to complete a new install. OR I am a moron on my thrid re-install today. configure: failed program was: | /* confdefs.h. */ Edit - fourth time was a charm. Followed the write up on the Wiki and except for what gotoman posted (Renaming libpng-dev to libpng12-dev), everything went A OK. - mvdaat - 2009-03-06 Question are scripts/plugins working for you? I'm trying to get "XOT-Uzg.v3" to work but it won't start I was wondering if other people have the same problem (maybe I have to install something to get it to work) error log: 20090306 20:56:27 - DEBUG - common.py - 165 - XBMC Information: 20090306 20:56:27 - DEBUG - common.py - 165 - | Version: XBMC pre-9.04 SVN:18262M 20090306 20:56:27 - DEBUG - common.py - 165 - | Environment: Linux 20090306 20:56:27 - DEBUG - common.py - 165 - + BuildDate: Mar 4 2009) 20090306 20:56:27 - DEBUG - common.py - 176 - Folder Structure of XOT-Uzg (XOT-Uzg.v3) 20090306 20:56:27 - INFO - plugin.py - 144 - Plugin::ShowProgramList 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - Error fetching channels for plugin 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | Traceback (most recent call last): 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | File "/home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/XOT-Uzg.v3/resources/libs/plugin.py", line 147, in ShowProgramList 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | import progwindow 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | File "/home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/XOT-Uzg.v3/resources/libs/progwindow.py", line 22, in ? 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | import settings 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | File "/home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/XOT-Uzg.v3/resources/libs/settings.py", line 14, in ? 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | import database 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | File "/home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/XOT-Uzg.v3/resources/libs/database.py", line 13, in ? 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | from pysqlite2 import dbapi2 as sqlite 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | File "/home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/XOT-Uzg.v3/resources/libs/Linux/pysqlite2/dbapi2.py", line 27, in ? 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | from pysqlite2._sqlite import * 20090306 20:56:27 - CRITICAL - plugin.py - 169 - | ImportError: No module named _sqlite - Asswipe44 - 2009-03-07 Just wondering if anybody else is having an issue logging in remotely via SSH on Hardy? I am able to connect after selecting the OpenSSH Server to install on Intrepid, but after doing the same on Hardy, putty isn't able to find host. Again, I can connect on Intrepid so it can't be a firewall problem. Thanks in advance. Edit: Is it possible that the ubuntu firewall is causing problems? Will test in a bit. - mr_raider - 2009-03-08 Bahndit Wrote:I followed this guide for a box that I built for a friend everything seems to be working great but I am having an interesting problem. It will only recognize around 3 gigs |
