Keeps asking for my password - thesaint - 2009-02-08

Hi Guys,

I have XBMC running on my Apple TV which is part of a wireless network along with my Macbook and my desktop PC. Everything is fine, I have my Macbook as a source where I can access my videos, music and pictures. However, everytime I click on Macbook, it asks for my Username and password. Is there anyway to enter the username and password once and save it ? It gets quite annoying...

Thanks for the help!

If I recall correctly - Settings - Network - SMB client...

You can then enter a user name and password which are stored for your profile (or for the master profile if not using profiles). Works fine for me.

you can access xbmc via the web browser interface (http://appletv.local:8080) then you can click 'Config' and add new sources and embed username/password quite easily, for example type something like this in when you add a new source via the web interface:

smb://myuser:mypassword@servername/folder1/Movies/
