- repvik - 2011-06-23 Would it be possible to run the bt-disconnect script when the screen dims in XBMC? That way I could avoid the remote sleeping during a movie, but the battery wouldn't be eaten in a single week either. - kitlaan - 2011-06-23 CSB! Wrote:I'm going through a set of batteries every week... hopefully I won't have to read through 550 posts to figure it out... What IdleTimeout value (either in the General section, or under your custom-specific device address) are you using? I use 30 seconds; haven't had to change batteries since putting out the new package... Hmm. I see you're even using 4.69, which has been known stable-and-working for ages. There has been reports of shutting down or suspending the computer before the remote has disconnected causing power drain... Which is why the bt-disconnect script is useful. repvik Wrote:Would it be possible to run the bt-disconnect script when the screen dims in XBMC? I don't recall seeing one. - CSB! - 2011-06-23 kitlaan Wrote:What IdleTimeout value (either in the General section, or under your custom-specific device address) are you using? I copied that line and put it under general, hopefully that helps somehow... I'll know in a week.:confused2: - repvik - 2011-06-27 I'm now getting these in my log once in a while: Code: Jun 27 21:57:22 Sirius bluetoothd[3924]: Input: disconnect /org/bluez/3922/hci0/dev_00_24_33_97_2C_46 - kitlaan - 2011-06-29 repvik Wrote:I'm now getting these in my log once in a while: That's the remote disconnecting via timeout. I guess I don't quite have the timeout cleanup done right (and the extra debugging printout)... (I get the same, and have been ignoring it until I have some time to debug. Functionally there's no problems; just the error message.) - repvik - 2011-06-29 Ok, I'll just ignore it then - CSB! - 2011-06-30 CSB! If you run the bluetooth daemon in debug mode (sudo service bluetooth stop; sudo bluetoothd -nd) and use it a bit (let it try to timeout, etc) and pastebin the debug output, I'll try to debug. - CSB! - 2011-07-01 kitlaan Wrote:If you run the bluetooth daemon in debug mode (sudo service bluetooth stop; sudo bluetoothd -nd) and use it a bit (let it try to timeout, etc) and pastebin the debug output, I'll try to debug. http://pastebin.com/a3UcgFPE After it wouldn't reconnect, I pulled the batteries out and re-inserted, and hit a button until it reconnected. - kitlaan - 2011-07-02 CSB! Wrote:http://pastebin.com/a3UcgFPE Huh. Looks like the disconnection logic is having problems. If you want to give it a chance, try upgrading bluez (4.91 for maverick should be in my PPA). I'll still take a poke at the 4.69 code to see what's going on. - MartinHJ - 2011-07-06 CSB! Wrote:I'm going through a set of batteries every week... hopefully I won't have to read through 550 posts to figure it out... I documented what I did to get the PS3 BD remote working in Mythbuntu for both MythTV and XBMC (and switching between the two) using the good work done by Kitlaan (many thanks!). Have put various notes on here: http://www.harley-jones.co.uk For all the issues (not many!) I have resolved in getting the system working. Hope this helps. The configs were all stock configs I found online and seem to work pretty well with a high WAF. If the remote has gone to sleep then pressing a button requires a little patience for a few seconds before the system responds. I can live with that. The only issue I do have is that if for some reason you press a button more than once (eg impatience or the like) then the system seems to go into a continuous repeat requiring going for the keyboard to press [esc] to get it out of the loop. Now I cant remember if this is happened only in MythTV so this may be the wrong forum for which I apologise in advance but if anyone has any hints I would appreciate. Also is it possible to get the keys to repeat on a continuous press (I am assuming not as I am sure I read that somewhere but just thought I would raise the question) Regards Martin - maxcovergold - 2011-07-10 Hi guys, I'm driving myself to the brink trying to figure this out. I'm a complete novice and sorry for such a noob question, but after some patience I finally managed to apply a patch to bluez but I still can't 'make' the file. The furthest I've got is with bluez 9.94 and using patch 4.91.diff, but within the bluez-4.94 directory (as with 4.58) there is no make file or make install file. There are however 3 files called Makefile.am Makefile.in and Makefile.tools but no idea how to use them or if they're relevant at thsi point. Any help appreciated, thanks EDIT: As some further info, I was trying alternative means and noticed that I don't have a 'uinput' file, in fact don't even have a 'modules' folder in my 'etc' directory. No reference to uinput within 'dev' folder either. Not sure if this makes any difference - repvik - 2011-07-10 What distro? If it's Ubuntu, there's a ready-made repository you can use instead of compiling it yourself. Check here: https://launchpad.net/~kitlaan/+archive/ppa - CSB! - 2011-07-11 kitlaan Wrote:Huh. Though I'm really hopeful this works I'm ready to kick myself in the nuts if it's that simple, after messing around for hours and hours. I'm am indeed running ubuntu 11.04. Do you think I should purge any of the bluetooth stuff before running it? Thanks |
