no sound with mkv files - orduek - 2009-05-10 Hi, I have latest XBMC installed on a Mythbuntu 8.10 system. Everything works nice but when watching .mkv movies I have no sound. - Maxim - 2009-05-10 We'll need a little more information to be of any help. Check out this post here: Sticky: HOW-TO post about a problem in a useful manner Mythbuntu 8.10 - orduek - 2009-05-10 I installed XBMC from ubuntu's PPA so I have the 9.04 XBMC version. I use Nvidia 8400GS graphic card on a ASUS p5q-em motherboard. I have no sound problems with either other formats on XBMC or all formats (including mkv) on mythtv. I use 32bit architecture although I have Intel Core2Due I have w32codecs installed. - Katagia - 2009-05-10 Maybe these files are the only files you have with 5.1 sound and output is switching to digital or something else? don't know - orduek - 2009-05-11 The sound settings are for digital so I don't think thats the problem. and if so, how can I fix it? another issue - because i'm loading XBMC from MythTV frontend I found that if the Mythtv last volume was 60% (PCM) then thats the XBMC max. Can I change the max volume in XBMC (affect PCM or master volume)?? thank you. - kasper-pa- - 2009-05-12 have you upgraded your alsa and un-muted your device using alsamixer? also, is this connected via a receiver or straight to the TV? If it's to a TV make sure the checkbox for the downmix multi to stereo is checked under audio properties. What's the connection? hdmi, optical? It's not muted - orduek - 2009-05-12 I know the Alda is OK because I have no problem with other files. And I can hear sound with MythTv. It's connected to a reciever by analog connection and not hdmi. solved - orduek - 2009-05-14 Switched to Analog in the music preferences of XBMC and the sound is fine. thank you. |
