- VanZan - 2011-06-26 Bit of a noob here. I downloaded the latest version for use with XBMC4XBOX Stable 3.0. Froze up on me when accessing the Settings page every time. Tried it a few times too! Anything I can do? http://pastebin.com/6rE5YDLE - exobuzz - 2011-06-26 yossisynett Wrote:I checked out whether the configuring the xbmc proxy settings would make any difference but as expected, there was no internet connectivity whatsoever (except while browsing using the plugin since it uses the proxy settings of the plugin). I know it's a long shot but is there no way that you can override the way that dvdplayer calls curl in order to utilize the proxy settings configured in the plugin? Not sure if you can change xbmc settings from a plugin. should be possible I guess perhaps through the API. the xbmc proxy settings only allow for a http proxy, so that won't work with a socks proxy. You could try setting up an http proxy though and see if that works. Else I can only suggest the VPN route. - exobuzz - 2011-06-26 VanZan Wrote:Bit of a noob here. You are on the wrong forum. http://www.xbmc4xbox.org for the xbox. Partly my fault I guess since the plugin page still points here and should be more clear. there are some issues with plugin gui settings on the xbox1 that have not yet been fixed. it can crash quite easily when navigating. try using a different skin perhaps such as pm3. also try removing any old settings config in case that is an issue. - VanZan - 2011-06-26 exobuzz Wrote:You are on the wrong forum. http://www.xbmc4xbox.org for the xbox. I actually have an account over at xbmc4xbox but since the plugin home page pointed here.......;-) - krish_2k4 - 2011-06-26 what is the current version for this addon? ive got 2.4.12 but the "popular" section isnt updated to what the actual iplayer website shows. Also on the popular section it lists the BBC channels at the end, is that right? edit: ok it actually does list the most popular but only the first 10, is there a way to get all of the most popular shows? - mortstar - 2011-06-26 krish_2k4 Wrote:what is the current version for this addon? ive got 2.4.12 but the "popular" section isnt updated to what the actual iplayer website shows. The limit for most popular, from the xml feeds, is 20 programmes. The website shows 45, but there is no way to retrieve the extra 25 (that I know). The channels are shown at the end to further refine your browsing. For example, if you navigate to popular -> BBC One - the plugin will show you the most popular programmes aired on BBC One. What I would like is for the popular feeds to not be alphabetised and were returned in there popularity order. - krish_2k4 - 2011-06-26 mortstar Wrote:The limit for most popular, from the xml feeds, is 20 programmes. Ahhh yes, you're right. By default the xml feeds return 10 items. I have hacked the addon to show the most possible (the upper limit is 20). But my method is extremely hacky and slows down (slightly) retrieval of other feeds so I'm not sharing here...sorry It's up to the dev(s) of this plugin to decide if they want to add it. - dieselboy27 - 2011-06-28 Is anyone here outside the UK able to setup a proxy or whatever to view iPlayer content? I have heard it's possible but nothing concrete. I have an apple tv 2g and would appreciate if someone in a similar situation could point me to a tutorial. - spidertnt - 2011-06-28 dieselboy27 Wrote:Is anyone here outside the UK able to setup a proxy or whatever to view iPlayer content? Yes i can view the iplayer content...but not the live tv feeds. (i'm in Canada using ATV2) I use unblock-us.com free for 1 week trial. They will provide you with DNS info to put in your router. works great - bladeds - 2011-06-28 on the apple tv 2 when playing the 720p hd files they lag a lot, however when playing 720p hd files from nbc they play fine. the files on iplayer are only 3200 kb's so the atv2 should be able to handle them right? i use unblock-us to access us content is only $4 a month and works great, it doesnot slow down your internet connection at all spidertnt Wrote:Yes i can view the iplayer content...but not the live tv feeds. (i'm in Canada using ATV2) - dieselboy27 - 2011-06-29 Ok, just set up the atv 2g with the DNS and iPlayer does work. That's pretty cool, too bad no live streams :/ Can't have everything lol. HD Settings - dlake02 - 2011-06-29 Hi If I leave the settings at default stream quality of "Auto" and then try and watch something on BBC HD, it seems I only get 1.5Mbit/s. To get the full HD stream, it looks like I have to specifically set this in the "Settings." That's fine, but it seems to break some streams that are not available at the higher rate. Is this correct ? Is there anyway I can leave the setting at Auto and always have the 3.2Mbit/s stream on BBC HD/other streams that have it available ? I'm on 10.1 Dharma on Linux and the latest iPlayer plugin. Thanks David - bladeds - 2011-06-29 did you set up the dns first on your pc and you have to do this first, do that and see i iplayer works on your pc? dieselboy27 Wrote:Ok, just set up the atv 2g with the DNS and iPlayer does work.
