You should remove your log from the forum before you get banned. There's a website called xbmclogs.com. Use it.

Well I was going for "firm" rather than "aggressive" to be honest. I've probably been having too many steaks lately. Soz.

@timwilde,

Please don't paste log contents directly in your post (I've removed it) as this creates too much clutter on the forums, especially for those reading this on mobile devices. Instead, please upload the contents of your entire debug log (wiki) to a public paste site such as www.xbmclogs.com and post just the assigned URL here. Thanks.

2.4.17 is working fine (I think I replaced a file with something posted here) but whenever I update to 2.4.18 it stops working and says I'm already streaming and need to stop when I try to play something.

Can anyone advise what I need to do to make 2.4.18 work as I'd like to update to get rid of the update notification?

No worries, I just felt a bit sorry for poor old timwilde, what with him being new here and all.

Try some soya, that should help balance out the steaks with a nice dose of estrogen Wink

@doveman2: Is this with a Gotham build or Frodo? I'm getting the same errors with a recent OE Gotham build, maybe the plugin is somehow incompatible. It was working fine in Frodo.

To whoever maintains this addon (if it is still maintained) - is there any chance the logging could be fixed as this is really wrong... Thanks. Smile

Replacing default.py with this default.py should do the trick!

The point is the addon doesn't use a conventional XBMC logging mechanism, it just dumps stuff to stdout so there is no filtering performed by XBMC. The addon can log stuff at DEBUG level all it likes, which is its default setting, but if XBMC isn't set to log DEBUG information, the output from iplayer shouldn't appear in my log, but it does. Changing the default log level to INFO isn't fixing the problem, only masking it to some extent.

Unfortunately I'm not really familiar with addons so not sure how to fix this, but I know it's currently wrong... If I get the time I'll look at this again, but hopefully the current maintainer can see the sense in sorting out the current logging approach. Smile

Yep, it's a recent OE Gotham build.

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Well it did get it working and stop the error message I was getting before but it's taking a very long while (maybe 10s) to start playing now, longer on my PC that I'm testing on than 2.4.17 was taking on my RPi as far as I can tell. It also crashed XBMC on the last programme I tried. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=51985

I'll test with 2.4.17 again on the PC and see if it's actually quicker or if I'm just imagining it.

EDIT: yeah, 2.4.17 is much better and opens the streams in about 2-3s. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=51988

I'm getting network error failed to fetch url. Using version 2.4.18 on xbmx frodo 12.2, windows 8 64bit.

Is this plugin still broken?

Also getting "unable to open stream" errors on all items

RE: [RELEASE] iPlayer - BBC Video and Music Plugin (UK only!) - hayvek - 2013-09-16

No, I'm able to stream fine. Are you running the most recent version of the add on? I think I got a similar error when the beeb changed something a while back but the update fixed it for me.

Is there a known issue with the subtitles? I'm running openelec on the RPi and the subtites used to work fine but all of a sudden they've started repeating the same the line up to 7 or 8 times across the screen. It's also missing quite a few of the lines. It wouldn't normally be an issue, but my missus is a non-native English speaker and sometimes struggles with some of the accents. I had a google and I've drawn a blank. If someone could push me in the write direction that would be great.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for developing this addon. It's brilliant and gets a lot of use in our household.
