The files for SVN 22528 have been pulled from launchpad. Can anyone suggest a stable more recent version that works with showmix? I love this skin but I'm discovering its quite buggy on my Acer Revo with live 9.11 alpha1.

Thanks.

Thanks.
I have hosted the PC files HERE for 22561

azido Wrote:hi all,

several reasons made us rethinking about the current situation.

the facts:

- we still only have a thread and no subforum for showmix here. nearly all code of aeon has removed, so we think it is no longer a mod, but an own skin.

- github suxx both in usage and availability plus andy's account there seems to be corrupted.

- too many places regarding showmix: xbmc forum / assembla for tickets & wiki / github for downloads / resource center for additional content

- the ticket system on assembla is not really user friendly.

to overcome all this, we started moving to sourcforge and to use their services.

the new adress for showmix is http://sourceforge.net/projects/showmix

Already done:

- uploaded current version 2.1 for easy downloading
- set up phpBB (forum) at http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/showmix/
- set up trac (same as xbmc uses) at http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/showmix/

still to do:

- move our wiki to http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/showmix/
- maybe host our resource center there (unsure right now)
- upload initial commit for easy checkout using one of the many subversion clients available out there

plan:

- so called "stable releases" will be downloadable as zip
- current versions can be checked out and easily updated
- all at one place

so from now on don't expect us to give any more support in here. we might still add announcements, but major talk should go over at the project forums from now on.

make sure you bookmark the project page if you want to follow us.

attention 3rd party download-script programmers: although we will not delete the version on github yet, we will do so when 2.5 is out. make sure you stay tuned if you like to include future updates in your scripts.

More programs to learn like tortoise, will you provide guides to use?
And from when are we starting to use this for updates?

of course we will, as we did for github, too.
from my point of view it's way easier to use than git anyway.

actually, you can already use it, the code is up, although it won't be of any use for end users because it's not finished.

when the update is done, version 2.5 and all future updates will be available from https://showmix.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/showmix/trunk

by the way:

the new home for showmix from now on is http://smproject.azido.de

(note we just bought showmix-project.com so it will change when dns entries are done)

all will be accessible within this page. in order to use the support forum you need to register for membership on page, in order to raise tickets you need an account on sourceforge. both are free.

Like 1981suede I too need the debs for revision 22528.

Anyone got them that can put them somewhere so we can download them?

you should more likely go into one of the linux threads to ask for it..

How do I access the poster frame that is used in wall view? I assumed it would just be a .png, but after no luck finding it I'm guessing its compressed with other similar files. I would like to edit the frame to fit better with my custom poster art, any guidance?

Looking forward to the guide and 2.5 Big Grin

I've actually been naughty and done that too, I just thought I'd try here as well as there are probably linux users who have stuck to 22528 to use showmix and watch this thread more than the PPA one.

I could post the templates if anyone wants them, it's a little time consuming creating custom art but the consistency is worth it. Below are images of the templates and in action in Alaska. They look okay since I edited the poster frames but I can't do the same for Showmix's wallview since I can't find the files, I assume they are compressed, can someone help me out? I would love to have my posters looking even better in Showmix.

actually i think it's quite a cool idea though on showmix that style would also be used as an overlay for your tv-shows, since the texture overlays share. it would be fine for movies, but just not really right for tv show posters imho.. more likely you end up in modifying the posters itself (which i think you did anyway) but this would mean you would loose our texture overlays for the tvshow posters (glass and borders) and in the end loose consistency.

and yes, of course you are right: the poster overlays are inside textures.xpr.
