rtl8187 wifi dongle on XBMC live - fidoboy - 2009-07-24 I'm trying to get XBMC Live working on my machine (i'm switching from windows xp version) but i'm unable to get my WIFI USB dongle working on XBMC Live. How can i add the necessary modules? The device seems to have a rtl8187 chipset (It's a Thomson TG123G device). Can anyone help me to get this working? many thanks in advance, regards - fasteddy - 2009-07-24 Open a terminal and Code: sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-jaunty - fidoboy - 2009-07-24 Hey! Many thanks fasteddy... but i don't have any internet conection on that machine, how can i use apt-get? or don't i need the internet connection? regards, - fasteddy - 2009-07-24 Ah, good point. You'll need to download it and save the .deb package to an external drive (usb key). Then install it via terminal. |
