SHen350 Wrote:A little bit ago I was trying a much older version of Transparency! as an option on my touchscreen. I've been gone, so I've been out of the loop.

I just download 1.03 and have been trying it. It works pretty good for touchscreen, but you still need a mouse or keyboard. Mainly it not having a back key function on most of the screens is the problem. If there were an option to have one appear then this would be ideal. Some screens do have it, like in video and music at the file level, there is the back arrow, but several screens would have no way of getting back to the main menu without a keyboard or mouse.

I understand this skin is not intended for touchscreen use, and really, it doesn't have to be. I just thought somewhere down the line you might see if it is even possible. I would do it myself, but just installing skins taxes my computer skills.

first, let me start by saying i'm not opposed to add a few optional 'Back Buttons' for this.
as far as i can tell they are available almost everywhere in file and library mode, except for the 'root' of every Videos / Music / Programs / etc.. section.

whether or not there's a 'Back Button' is totally handled by xbmc, it's not like the skin is hiding them or something. Though adding them to the skin, in places where they are currently missing, should be fairly easy to do.

my biggest fear however, is that adding a few buttons is far from what needs to be done to make a skin touchscreen compatible.
as an example, check this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=56334
and i'm pretty sure there's much more that needs to be addressed.

in my opinion, the best way to get a thing like this on the road is to start by making a complete and detailed list of things that need to be added, where, when, what, how, etc..

if you really want to push this idea forward, i suggest opening a separate thread for it, to see if you can get other people involved as well. and hopefully someone with a bit of xml knowledge as well.
since i don't have a touchscreen, i have nothing to test things on, so i definitely won't be coding up touchscreen support on my own.

Seems like it not downloading all info i don´t know why.. Like Rating and some other stuff and its x-files so it shuld all be there

The XBMC scraper isn't as good as using something like Ember Media Manager that can use multiple scraper sources...

Yes, I can see what you mean. Hmmm.... I will try to give this a more thorough look through when I get back to the states. I really only use the touchscreen in two places, the kitchen PC and the laptop I travel with.

Let me look through these forums a little bit more also to see if anyone else has been thinking about this. Also, I wouldn't want alot of buttons messing up your nice clean skin.

Changed the internal Music background (non-home) to this as I find the CD cases to be a bit fugly. Just a thought Wink

Hi Ronie,

First off great work on Transparency everything looks great.

I have one small request:

Can you add the ability to display the clock when browsing the video menus (TV Shows/Movies/Videos).

Thanks again for a great skin!

cheers Kryspy, suggestions for new backgrounds are most welcome.
i did try several close-ups of music instruments when i was picking the background for the music section, but in the end i decided it had to be the cd cases. mainly because they are so colourful.

Hi Ronie!

I like the Now Playing-Screen with the spinning CD :-)
One Question: To take care of my Plasma, I would like to realize the following behavior:
* Manually start a song
* manually switch to "Now Playing"
* automatically after 10-20 seconds switching to full-screen visualisation or moving fanart
* automatically 5-10 seconds before the song ends, switch to "cdart-view" and then (after 10-20 seconds) switch to full-screen vis.

Is this configurable in 1.0.3?

I tried to switch of, all skin-settings (cdart, fanart instead visualisation) but the full-screen (default fanart-screensaver) never comes up....

Sunny greetings from austria
Macchina

P.S.
On my Marantz-Universal-Remote (RC3001) I've configured the xbmc-event "On Screen Menu" (via Eventghost) to bring up the player-control. This works fine in videos, but doesn't work on music. On music I've to press "m" on the keyboard. In Mediastream or Aeon the event "On Screen Menu" works for both (videos and music). Any ideas?

Hello again ronie, would it be possible to have a choice of OSD, I like just about everything about Transparency except the OSD, I have already moved it to the left but it is, for my taste and please don't be offended, still too big. It use to drive my wife nuts but as part of my job, QC for a TV network, I use Pause a lot to check stuff on the screen and the most unobtrusive OSD I have seen yet is found in the Basic-Vision skin. Thanks for your hard work.

some of it may be possible, some may not...it's all in the hands of xbmc, not the skin.

there are visualisation and screensaver settings in xbmc's settings menu,
maybe you've configured something wrong there?

the 'menu' button on my remote or 'm' key on keyboard both bring up the osd menu in videos as well as in music. since all of this is handled by xbmc, it's pretty strange if it works for one skin and not the other.

is there an option to remove the dvd (for movies) or episode snapshot (for tv shows) that shows up in the bottom right when you ff or rewind a video? i didn't see one, but not sure if i missed it...
