I will try removing the web server password if possible on the xbox version when I get home.

I have cyanogen firmware version 4.1.11.1

Edit: there's no option on the xbox to disable the password, i tried changing it but the same problem is still occuring.

seeweeduk: just remove the entered password in the xbox, so the new password equals "".

Tried that but when you press done it reverts to the previously entered password blank ones dont seem to be allowed.

Is anyone using a password for xbmc webserver from those who don't get the can't connect error?

For those who get the error: is the username and password included in the url in the error box that comes up?

No user name and password in the error, here's the exact message

Code:
Unknown I/O Exception

Reqeust for feature - albyeno99 - 2009-10-02

This is a feature request, but first off;

topsf2, a huge thank you for your work on this project. I am totally geeked out on this tool.

My feature request is as follows: Is it feasible to have profiles for different xbmc machines I have my network? Currently it is a matter of changing the IP to hit up different machines, but it would be even sweeter to have stored profiles for different machines and networks.

Again thank you for all you work (and thanks to anyone else that has helped).

As an FYI I am running Cyanogen 4.0.2 on a G1 and everything seems to be working as advertised.

Same behaviour on my ubuntu xbmc. The password pops up again when confiming the deleted one....

Ending up with the same I/O exeption error....

Hi all,

besides that I really like the app I can confirm that I get the same "I/O Exception.." while connecting from my G1 with JACxROM 1.4r3 to my xbmc (pre-9.10 r22793) running on top of Ubuntu 9.04 using version 0.4 of the remote.

"pre-9.10 r22793" is the exact output that I get when visiting "http://xbmcIP:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=getsysteminfo(120)" with my browser.

Cheers, Kleo

We think we finally got it. It will be fixed in the next version. For everyone using svn: the patch is already in there Smile

Great!

I managed to remove the password from xbmc. The 0.4 version now is working in XBMCbuntu!
For those who are not using svn and want to delete the password in xbmc (ubuntu). Use a real keybord and you are able to remove the password. The onscreen thing won't work.

Great can't wait for the next version very anxious to see the full functionality of this app in action the remote portion is superb.

And it's available! 0.4.1 bleeding edge version.

No error message now but unfortunately still not connecting, the text "connecting" comes up but it never seems to connect, server is still working in the browser with the same settings. Let me know anything I can do to troubleshoot further.

- dallco - 2009-10-04

Nice! 0.4.1 bleeding edge can make the connection with an password. Strange behavior of my xbmc is that I have to restart the webserver (switch it on and off) after booting. It will not connect otherwise. Could be my installation?
Other odd behavior: Albumart that uses images from a folder (Cover.jpeg, Folder.jpeg) is not visible in the album listing on the phone. When I add album info trough xbmc it is visible in the listing. When looking at now playing both the album art (no matter what resource) is visible!
The playalbum or que album options are not working yet but that all alpha things I assume.
I really love this app. Thanks!Big Grin

Good point. I also have some albums with no covers showing up, and I wondered why but didn't investigate any further. Can you open a ticket please?
