Hello,
I have a problem when I play ac3 movies via XBMC everything is ok but when I play stereo movies I have sound only via analog output.
I'm using XBMC on ubuntu 9.04
my receiver is connected to my computer with SPDIF & analog outputs
my question is how can I watch stereo (analog) movies and still here them via my SPDIF output??

Strange thing is that I too use s/pdif out for XBMC but I've no problems w/ stereo... I always thought that if one sets Linux and xbmc to use dig. out then analogue out is sort of disabled. For stereo too... You may want to fiddle around a bit in the Volume Control window in Linux (gnome-volume-control) and XBMC's audio settings...

I have been playing with the settings for days now.
PCM sound goes through the analog output and other formats go through the SPDIF.
can anyone explain it?
