TNX. Great plugin, congrats on work that has been long/hard awaited by a lot of people.

I hope XBOX developers will fix the bug causing not to be able to search with hash enabled through SMB.

Cheers,

No problems ... Smile

Thank you very much for endless testing and translation

I am still looking at that issue for you but I don't seem to be able to replicate it. I tried entering the same search string as you and I have managed to download and extract every single sub that appeared on the list. very strange behavior on XBOX... I will still look into it....

No problem. I will do some more tests this week and will report later. Hope other users will also give some feedback.

Cheers

don't know if this has been requested before but it would be great if you could set it to search the 2nd source if first one doesn't deliver on primary language

If the Opensubtitles finds "0" subs you want it to search Sublight, or vice-versa, automatically?

You could just manually do that. Reason I left it all manual is that OpenSubtitles hangs sometimes, I use Sublight as main service and only if there is no results I use OS.

If more people want automatic search by default I could look into it.

I was thinking at some point to do both searches and display results of both in one list, but I changed my mind because of OS erratic web site behavior.

Maybe you could just make the Sublight database the default, not optionally, since it's more reliable and if there are no results found automatically try open subtitles.

Maybe you could also make filename parsing a bit smarter. There are some default naming conventions for tv episode filenames. The script doesn't seem to support this yet.

And could uploading subs to sublight be integrated...technically? It would be great if we could help the database grow! Even though I guess this can only be done from other platforms then the XBOX. I believe the hash is requred for uploading, so is a sublight account....

This is a personal preference... I agree with you, but I would prefer to leave it as an option.

If you could explain in more detail, I would definitely look into it.

Unfortunately two services use different search strings,Sublight needs Tv Show name , season number and episode number([how I met your mother],[1],[1]). OpenSubtitles uses TVshowName + S0xE0x (How+I+Met+your+mother+S01E01). If the tv show is added to your library info is used by the script and it works like a charm. Unfortunately to try and parse all possible tvshow naming options would be a nightmare(101,s01e01,1x01, season 1 episode 1.....)

Technically it is possible, not sure how many people would use it and would it be worth the effort. If there is enough interest in it I would definitely try and do something about it.

It's awesome that there's more than 1 option. But maximize it's usefulness by making it search the 2nd source if source 1 fails for the primary language.

I cannot explain to my family to change source if no subtitles are found.
they just don't understand

when the first source finds the "0" results, the first option in a list should be the Search Sublight/OpenSubtitles....

If its not please let me know when does it happen, I could have missed it somewhere, or I might not understand the exact problem you are having.

Anyone having trouble with OpenSubtitles search please update to Version 1.28.

New in version 1.28

-It will now attempt to search by hash(feature that was so frequently down on OpenSubtitle web site) and if it can't connect it will still search by name instead of crashing the script.

-Swedish Translation

As always, Let me know if there are any problems

Any plans adding other subtitles sources like http://www.undertexter.se?

Its all in Swedish ... I dont understand a word in there. It would need to have API so that we can search the subs, Also it should have other languages apart from Swedish to make it worth while.

Are you not getting sufficient results from the two sites already in the script?

Zeljko

- awarin - 2009-08-28

sadly their are a lot of subs missing in swedish. The site only has swedish subs.

Their is a script called undertexter.se for xbmc. http://xbmc-misc.googlecode.com/svn/branches/scripts/Undertexter-v1.1.zip
*search seems broken

Hopefully the author updates his script and i can use both.

Anyways thank you for a great plugin.
