I tried to post this thread in off topic: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=68202
But the forum wouldn't let met post a thread in off topic. I felt that it could benefeit some of the many Ubuntu users but it didn't really have a place, so I had to put it in General XBMC.
Why won't the forums let me post in off-topic?

Pretty sure it still applies. You have to understand that moderating the forums is alot of work (I spend 30 minutes a day just to crawl through and aprove mdoerated posts, delete stuff, move stuff to the right forums etc.) and we want to keep topics here related to xbmc, for our own sanity
